[Bug 686782] Re: No way to connect Wireless/PPPOE
could you perhaps elaborate on how you normally connect? Like in windows is it a dial up connection? I'd imagine it is. And the devices that are involved on the way e.g. router, adsl modem, etc? that'll help people help you on this. ** Changed in: network-manager-applet (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/686782 Title: No way to connect Wireless/PPPOE -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 686782] Re: No way to connect Wireless/PPPOE
This is a known issue, it's not currently possible to connect to a PPPoE connection over wireless. There are workarounds though: you can use wired to connect, say, for a first connection, than install and use pppoeconf, pon and poff to control PPPoE connections manually. See https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ADSLPPPoE for all the details on how to do this. ** Bug watch added: Red Hat Bugzilla #446338 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=446338 ** Also affects: network-manager-applet (Fedora) via https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=446338 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Changed in: network-manager-applet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium ** Changed in: network-manager-applet (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/686782 Title: No way to connect Wireless/PPPOE -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
