I was also experiencing this problem, same specs as OP. I found after researching the same issue it related (for some people) to having a audio CD moutned in their cd drive. This wasn't the case for me - it was due to my iPhone being connected. I would suggest unmounting devices and seeing if it resolves the issue for you..
