[Bug 2063557] [NEW] After upgrading to Ubuntu 24.04, login screen shows "Ubuntu 23.10"
Public bug reported: After upgrading from Ubuntu 23.10 to 24.04 following the instructions in https://help.ubuntu.com/community/NobleUpgrades#Upgrading_Ubuntu_Desktops_to_24.04_LTS (that is, with update-manager -d), everything went smooth. However, in the bottom left part of the login screen it shows "Ubuntu 23.10" instead of the expected "Ubuntu 24.04". [Bug 2063502] Re: 24.04: dvd image wont fit on dvd and missing libraries
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Please also ensure that you include the release and flavour of Ubuntu that you are using. The capacity of a dual layer DVDR(W) is 8.3-8.5GB (8.5GB unformatted), which will fit a Ubuntu ISO though you didn't specify what Ubuntu product/ISO you're meaning; eg. a Ubuntu Desktop 24.04 LTS ISO is smaller (5.7GB) than this size for example. A single layer DVD is of course smaller, but the intended install media today has been a USB flash drive for some time. Bug reporting is about finding & fixing problems thus preventing future users from hitting the same bug. I suspect a Support site would be more appropriate, eg. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu. You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709. [Bug 2062389] Re: [SRU] Fix segfault in systemdunitdependency probe
** Also affects: openscap (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: openscap (Ubuntu Mantic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: openscap (Ubuntu Mantic) Status: New => Fix Released ** Changed in: openscap (Ubuntu Noble) Status: New => Fix Released ** Description changed: [ Impact ] * This issue causes a crash in openscap when there's a circular dependency in systemd services, and currently affects both Ubuntu 20.04 - and 22.04. + and 22.04. openscap on Ubuntu 23.10 and 24.04 already contain this fix. * This indirectly is affecting the usage of USG (Ubuntu Security Guide) for CIS auditing in systems with ceph-mds. See LP: #2060345. * This issue was reported to upstream here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1478285 and later fixed in openscap upstream git repo https://github.com/OpenSCAP/openscap/pull/1474. This SRU is a backport of the mentioned pull request. [ Test Plan ] * There are a few ways to reproduce this issue, as you can see some notes on LP: #2060345. But for simplicity, the easiest way to reproduce this issue is to run the following commands. On Ubuntu 20.04: ``` $ oscap oval eval --id "oval:ssg-service_rsyslog_enabled:def:1" ssg-ubuntu2004-oval.xml Definition oval:ssg-service_rsyslog_enabled:def:1: true Evaluation done. $ sudo apt install ceph-mds $ oscap oval eval --id "oval:ssg-service_rsyslog_enabled:def:1" ssg-ubuntu2004-oval.xml W: oscap: Can't receive message: 103, Software caused connection abort. [ Where problems could occur ] * This fix was never backported to version 1.2 in upstream git repo, but was applied to openscap 1.2 in RHEL-based distros, it is unclear if the backport ever created another issue with the systemdunitdependency probe. If that is the case we expect to see some other tests

[Bug 2054395] Re: [sru] sos upstream 4.7.0
@Lucas, it is ready. We were planning to resolve that bug as part of the whole SRU of 4.7.0. When n/m/j/f are done, we'll get the bionic one done too, and that will be 4.7.0 as well, I hope that makes sense. Hello Timo, On jammy, ``` No LSB modules are available. After enabling -proposed and updating xorg-server packages to 2:21.1.4-2ubuntu1.7~22.04.11, I followed the same steps to reproduce the bug. The Precision 5520 had hybrid graphics with both integrated Intel (HD P630) and discrete Nvidia (GM197GLM) processors. The live system is using the 'nouveau' driver for the Nvidia graphics.
