[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 531164] Re: [pineviewgm] resolution drops to VGA when external monitor is connected while X starts
The driver is doing exactly as it is told. The default behaviour of fbcon and X is to create a mirrored fb that is the same on all outputs. The display manager then sets whatever mode it wants upon loading. There is no logs here from the failure of the display manager, and since subsequent attempts to change mode work fine, there is no indication that there is a bug in the driver - just userspace. ** Package changed: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) = grandr (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/531164 Title: [pineviewgm] resolution drops to VGA when external monitor is connected while X starts To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/531164/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1194478] [NEW] firefox image corruption
Public bug reported: since upgrading to Ubuntu 13.10 I've a problem with image-corruption in firefox. Symptoms: 1. A loaded image is shown instead of an other loaded image (image is duplicated / replaced) [see screenshot, the icon in the top-left Meine Abos - Youtube has the Icon of IT-News ct, iX, ... and of Portal ubuntuusers.de] 2. A image is corrupted so you can't even recognize what shall be shown 2_1. The image is black either entirely... 2_2. ... or some pixels are repeated over the whole image [see attached screenshot, the icon in the top-left Meine Abos - Youtube] This happens nearly every time, when the image is scaled down by firefox. It happens less often when the image is actually in the right size. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 408903] Re: Does not handle microphone mute button (KEY_MICMUTE)
Is it possible for me to test the above fixes (g-s-d, x11-proto-core, udev, xkeyboard-config) on precise? I just built x11-proto-core from proposed but apparently the package alone doesn't fix the bug for me. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1174495] Re: Window Managers instability with r600 radeon and high monitor resolutions
I am not sure about the ALT-TAB if it is related or not. The problems I had with the old version was a combination of freezes when changing workspaces AND doing ALT-TAB. Now the workspace switching works fine but the ALT-TAB is still buggy. The showing and disappearing of the applications logos when ALT-TAB switching is buggy (freezes). I removed my Radeon card again and rebooted with my Intel integrated card. The ALT-TAB works fine. This is why I think it is related to the Radeon bug (but it may be another one). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1174495 Title: Window Managers instability with r600 radeon and high monitor resolutions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/1174495/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1180986] Re: X Segmentation fault with dual-head config on Matrox G45FMDVP32DB /32MB /DVI /VGA
I am pretty sure it is the same problem and solution in Saucy. Here is a debdiff for Saucy. For upstream, I think Cyril's 02- Debian patch is a prerequisite and it hasn't been upstreamed either, so dualview is simply broken upstream. I will (re)post that one together with my one on xorg-devel (soon). There is also a related third patch from Matthieu in December, but that one is not needed for Ubuntu. ** Patch added: debdif for Saucy https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-mga/+bug/1180986/+attachment/3713904/+files/xserver-xorg-video-mga_1.6.2-0ubuntu2.debdiff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-mga in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1180986 Title: X Segmentation fault with dual-head config on Matrox G45FMDVP32DB /32MB /DVI /VGA To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/1180986/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 299727]
My Type 7 keyboard has a PC layout. For at least the Type 6 keyboard there are at least two layouts: PC layout and UNIX layout. The UNIX layout has the capslock and control keys switched and I believe the Escape key was also moved. Another difference is that the power key was changed to a standby key (same keycode, but different icon printed on the key?) Well, these days all linuxes are using same keycodes from evdev driver. What keycode does that key generate?(In reply to comment #5) Another detail of my Sun Type 7 USB keyboard: It has a euro sign on the 4, instead of on the 5 as is more usual for other keyboard vendors. You can you XKB option euro:4 if you like... For a moment it looks there is no immediate need in separate model. Perhaps an alias for Sun Type 6.
