[ApacheDS] Forcing Read-Only mode in Apache Directory Studio

2023-08-30 Thread Info Seek
This is a question about Apache Directory Studio, on the Connection screen,
the "Read-Only (Prevents any add, delete, modify, or rename operation)"
checkbox.

I would like a team of customer service reps to use Apache Directory
Studio to qualify issues, and would like the Read-only checkbox to be
checked and locked (grayed out) so they cannot inadvertently uncheck it. Is
there any existing means to ship Apache Directory Studio forcing Read-Only
like that? Has anyone else accomplished something like this, or would this
be an enhancement request?

Thanks!

[Announcement] : Apache LDAP API 2.1.4

2023-08-30 Thread Emmanuel Lecharny
The Apache Directory project is proud to announce the release of the
Apache LDAP API 2.1.4 version !

The Apache Directory LDAP API is an ongoing effort to provide an
enhanced LDAP API, as a replacement for JNDI and the existing LDAP API
(jLdap and Mozilla LDAP API).

This is a schema aware API, with some convenient ways to access a LDAP
server. This API is not only targeting the Apache Directory Server,
but should work pristine with any LDAP server.

It's also an extensible API : new Controls, schema elements and network.

This is a bug fix release, it conatains a fix in the DN ancestors
management, and a migration to MINA 2.2.2, which supports TLS 1.3.

Here is the fixed issue:

DIRAPI-393 - DN comparison behavior changed after parsing ancestor
