Re: [libreoffice-users] Re: Bibliography crash
Hi :) True but in this case it was a 3rd party app produced by people that have set themselves against us. Hopefully now they have given OpenOffice.org to Apache Foundation they might not be quite so obtuse. Java is still likely to continue to be unreliable but there is less chance of that being in a targeted way. I wonder if they ever did manage anything like that. I honestly doubt it. But that still leaves it as a 3rd party app over which we have no control. The only drawback is in replicating (or alternatively deleting) enough pages to meet output requirements. It would be a fairly trivial exercise to program this as a replacement for the frame based system. Thanks for your work on these templates. There is a nice advantage for the regular labels: the option to synchronise all labels with changes on the first label. Hello Cor, many thanks for your response, despite you not having seen my template set. ;-) I created them for my own use, but then decided that they might enjoy wider usage so I wrote a simple tutorial and made the package available as a .zip archive. With regard to your comments about synchronisation, this is a coding function and not inherently dependant upon the frame basis, rather than the more logical table approach. If the code was written in 'C' rather than 'C++' I might be tempted to fix it, but I can't stand over-verbose languages and avoid the latter like the plague. :-) Regards Peter HB -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

Re: [libreoffice-users] Not installing
Check if you have a Quick Start option installed/enabled for your taskbar. Check your taskbar for a Quickstart icon for LO. End it before you try the next install of LO. Be sure that you go through LO's options to disable the Quichstart option from coming back. If you do not see it on the taskbar, maybe look in the Install/Remove option in Control Panel for that. Which version of LO have you installed before on your computer? I have not installed 3.5.x on my Vista [32-bit] laptop, but I have installed 3.4.5[?] on it. I never enable the Quickstart option, since it tends to give you issues when you want to upgrade the package. The Quickstart option loads up at boot-time and runs in memory, EVEN when you do not have the main LO package running. It gives LO a little boost in its load time, but tends to not be worth the hassles. I never check the Quickstart options for any Windows packages I tend to install. Re: [libreoffice-users] Failure to install Libre Office
Hi :) Do you already have a version of LibreOffice or OpenOffice, Lotus Symphony, Neo Office or other office suite installed on your machine? If so then open it and try Tools - Options - errr i couldn't find it!? I was sure it's there somewhere like General? Shortly after the installation started a message box popped up stating that Libre Office 3.5 or Libre Office 3.5 quick start should be closed. The installation Wizard then indicated that the installation had failed. I would be grateful for any help or suggestions. [libreoffice-users] Re: LO 3.5.1 Java weirdness on OSX
Thank you, Alex. On 26.03.2012 5:16 , Alexander Thurgood wrote: Le 22/03/12 15:48, bunk3m a écrit : Hi, LO doesn't find any Java version except for one. I don't think it can anymore automatically (but I'm prepared to be proven wrong ;-)), at least not on Mac, the handling of the Java path was changed during 3.4.x or 3.5.x development, I seem to recall, because LO was having problems recognising the write system Java path. That is too bad. I'd like to use an updated Java since Apple is a bit slow to update. I want to run a more recent version and have more recent versions of Java installed. But I can't add the versions of Java RE installed in Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines I have OpenJava 1.7.0u.jre installed in Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines Questions: Why doesn't LO use the 1.6.0_31 version installed? Why can't I select to run 1.7.0u.jre from Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines? Like I said, I think it has to do with the path changes introduced for Java recognition during 3.4/3.5 development (I don't exactly remember when this happened). The only thing I can think of is if you change your environment variables in your session bash profile or the corresponding session plist. You might then be able to force LO to take the Java version of your choice. I checked my .profile and changed the Java_home to where the OpenJava 1.7.0u.jre is installed. Now java -version shows the correct 1.7.0 version. ---quote--- java -version openjdk version 1.7.0-u4-b13 OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0-u4-b13-20120224) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.0-b16, mixed mode) ---end quote--- LibreOffice 3.5.2 still shows the 1.6.0_29. I can't get the Options:Java to select the newer java 1.7.0 version. I tried to Add and Class Path but no luck. Shouldn't this work? While I understand that the automatic finding of java versions on the Mac has been problematic and been discontinued, shouldn't I be able to use Add or Class Path to add the OpenJava 1.7.0 version? I think that since Apple has decided to stop providing Java and is leaving it up to the vendor, then the default install place will change to /Library/Java from /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines. In that case how will LO find a functioning recent version of java Alex Thanks again for your help, Alex. Cheers! Assuming you are trying to install under Windows, try this solution 1) Load Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and End any process named soffice.exe, soffice.bin and quickstart.exe in the Processes tab (you can sort processes alphabetically by clicking on the Image Name column) 2) Install LibreOffice version 3.5 -- View this message in context: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Failure-to-install-Libre-Office-tp3865431p3865588.html Sent from the Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

Re: [libreoffice-users] Uninstalling not fully installed WriterTools extension
It was either a corrupted .oxt file you tried to use or something in the user file was giving you an issue. I have had things that downloaded 1% of the file than ended as if it was completed properly. Mostly it was due to overworked servers/mirrors. Use to get it many times with LO language packs, till the mirror that I was directed to got their act together and fixed their problems [so I was told]. I have one .oxt file in my list, I forget which one, that would not install if I used the next version. I will be updating all my extension files in that list for my next DVD publication, but every one listed worked for me when I tried them out. So that is why I gave you my link. I know that it works, since it worked for my system. On 03/28/2012 12:34 PM, peedyswo...@gmail.com wrote: Thanks. I wonder also if you could take the LO user data folder and rename it. Then it should show that the items listed in the Extension Manager is no longer there, or most of them. It does for Ubuntu when I rename the .libreoffice folder. Then install the Writers Tools extension again. Where did you get the file? Was it downloaded properly/uncorrupted? Here is my copies. Now, I can't get it t fully install - nor can I get extension manager to uninstall it. I've contacted the author of this extension days ago but have received no reply. Does anyone have any idea how I can somehow manually uninstall this extension? -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
Re: [libreoffice-users] Re: Failure to install Libre Office
I would uninstall the quickstart.exe. The amount of time it saves for opening up LO is not worth the problems it tends to cause me when I am updating the package that uses it; be it LO, OOo, or other package that has a quickstart option. Is there a problem with 3.5.x, since we are getting many of these emails? Is quickstart now a default and not easily opted out of? Re: [libreoffice-users] Can't register for the Nabble interface, CAPTCHA not working?
Hi :) Sometimes the captcha's are a bit wonky. A blatant x turns out to have been a t or something. Sometimes it's not clear that there are sometimes 2 words if the second word is Ok or something. Usually you can refresh the Captcha so that you can find a less ambiguous one (with any luck) or try to play it on the speakers and scare your colleagues ;) Good to see that Drew has dived in and fixed it already :) Good luck and regards from Tom :) --- On Wed, 28/3/12, Stephan Petersen stephan.peter...@gmail.com wrote: From: Stephan Petersen stephan.peter...@gmail.com Subject: [libreoffice-users] Can't register for the Nabble interface, CAPTCHA not working? Labels are tabular after all and this frame fetish has frustrated me for some years. For anyone interested, I made a set of tabular templates, both A4 and American Letter sizes some years ago and they have served me well. :-) Regards Peter HB -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
