I did find that there were trailing spaces on the contents of some cells.
How did you import the information. All at once or certain columns at a
time.

LibreOffice Windows builds have ongoing issue with the change at LibreOffice
5.3 to more DirectWrite and Direct2D based font rendering. tdf#112486
  . You can drop
back to 5.2.7 if functional for you.

Otherwise believe the issue you are having was resolved for most folks as
for tdf#107166
, with some _still_ requiring driver updates for their GPUs to correctly
render with DirectWrite.

I expect you would benefit from driver update for the GMA 4500HD GPU as that
iGPU would probably not be capable of running LibreOffice in OpenGL mode.
Unfortunately you would have to manually update the driver update as Lenovo
does not support it well.

Hi CFranz:

Would you please tell us what version of LibreOffice use you ?,
it is because some issues are correlations with specific versions. I
don't know in this case but usually is necessary to know the version if
it is a cause of a bug.

[libreoffice-users] Install of 5.4.1 causes disappearance of text in LO Writer files

2017-09-27 Thread gfriedley
I installed 5.4.1 to my ThinkPad SL510 running Windows 7. Now I can't see
most of the data--text--in my LO Writer files; most show a sentence a two,
where before there were paragraphs and pages of text. Help. What's going on?

I uninstalled 5.4.1 and installed 5.3.6, but to no avail. Is there a known
issue? I have NEVER had such a catastrophic issue with LO Writer before
this. CALC seems to be evincing similar behavior. Please advise.

Tim-L,

I'll look in the TTF directory and see what I have.

I currently use LO 5.3.6.1 on an Ubuntu 16.04LTS laptop - the laptop I am
typing from. I do not think any Win10 or Ubuntu partition/system is still
running versions lower than 5.2.1.

Since I run neither Microsoft nor a Ubuntu this does not apply. I've run
Slackware the past 14 years. Current LO version is 5.4.1.

Thanks,

This works for me on my MBPro (2015), OSX 10.12.6 and LO 5361.

If I activate the fullscreen mode of an open Calc document for example
by clicking on green window control button to expand the window, then
move the mouse cursor anywhere to the top of the screen and the window
control buttons appear, including the green one to leave fullscreen
mode. In this mode, the document window isn't truly fullscreen as there
are black borders top and bottom.

If I use Ctrl-Cmd-F to move the document to fullscreen, I still see the
green button of the window control, and the whole window fills all of
the screen. Clicking on the green button should reduces the window back
to its previous size, however, as you have discovered, this doesn't work
properly.

The way to workaround this is to switch contexts, i.e. switch Space
(Ctrl-Left/Right arrow), click on an icon on the Desktop or another
application window (not LO) and then switch back to LO again. You should
now see window controls if you move the mouse up to the top of the screen.

Known bug.

There's no secret - LO doesn't support MacOS fullscreen correctly, and
the internal code that it does use is at best a fudge. There are a
number of bug reports already in the LO bugzilla about it.
