I've used sections in this way before, but it's not something that I think of until prompted by someone else! Re: [libreoffice-users] Printing Multiple Copies Duplex
I run Ubuntu and for whatever reason, I never could get Duplex to work for my Epson Artisan 810 printer. What I did way print the document out to a PDF file, then use the PDF viewer to print to the Artisan printer using the duplex option. I still cannot get it to work with 3.4.4. So my only option is to do the printing to PDF and then print the duplexed option using the PDF file. Actually it is good to have a PDF copy of the file. It is a good way to archive the document. I use both the Export to PDF and a suparate PDF printer. Cups PDF for Ubuntu and doPDF for Windows. Export to PDF does not print out all of the fancy and specialized fonts I tend to use. For your case, it would be special music related fonts. I assume you are showing musical notation on your song sheets. If you use special fonts for those sheets, Export to PDF might not print the sheets the way you want them. RE: [libreoffice-users] Printing Multiple Copies Duplex
Hi, I had the same problem recently. Or at least I think so. Correct me if I've misunderstood your problem. Only way I got around it was to create a second page on my document which was an exact copy of the first page and then select print 2 copies and print duplex. And selecting combine print jobs made no difference It works but I'd also like to know if there is a better way because every time I make a modification I have to do it to both pages. It would be much better to be able to send 2 copies of one page to the printer and get it to print duplex that is one copy on each side of the paper. I'm having trouble doing something that used to be easy and automatic. I need to print multiple song sheets. They are in two columns printed landscape. Each song sheet fits onto one A4 page. I print the copies back to back then cut pages in half, giving me two sheets of A5 each containing identical content. In previous versions of LO this was straight forward. Set the number of copies, set to print duplex. In 3.4.4 I am finding that it sends each page out as a separate print job even when I select the option to combine into a single job (under the Options tab in the print dialog- it used to be under Tools-Options-General-Print, I think). It happily prints a second blank page on the back of the first so I get exactly what I don't want. I also make sure that the option for printing extra blank pages is not selected. I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 if that helps. -- God bless you Keith Bates Narrabri NSW Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
Re: [libreoffice-users] Printing Multiple Copies Duplex
Bruce, That's exactly the problem, and I've used the same work around. Mine is a bit more complicated than that as I edit the sheet each week, having a collection of songs saved that I cut and paste. So this week's songs are on page 1 of an 11 page document. That means I now have to remember to copy page 1 to page 2, deleting last week's page 1 or 2. Previous versions of LO would let you send 2 copies of 1 page and print duplex. I can't make this work in 3.4.4 Keith On 30/11/11 16:09, Bruce Carlson wrote: Hi, I had the same problem recently.
