Open Office 4.1.1 Download problems
I checked for updates and was told that version Open Office 4.1.1 was available for download. To do this I was to open and run a downloaded zip file. When I tried to do this my Malware program blocked the file as harmful and it has disappeared from my Downloads folder. Anything louche going on? Thanks on infor about Sudden? Conversion of a file to a read only file
Thanks to all who responded with advice about my problem below. I managed to solve it by saving the blocked file to another computer (office computer from home computer) where the blocking came off and I was able to transfer it back to my original computer. Many thanks again. Janis Langins A file I have updating daily (quite long, about 340 pages) has inexplicably for reasons I cannot understand converted to a Read Only file. I have tried to get around this by copy the file from another folder where did not convert to a Read Only to overwrite this file. It stays Read Only. I have erased it and copied from my other folder and it becomes a Read Only. Any idea of what is going on and how can I stop this? Open Office 4.0.1 and Endnote Proprietary Bibliographic Database
Am I missing something? I note that in Open Office 4.0.1 the feature of inserting footnotes directly from the Endnote Bibliographic Database is missing. I could do this in Open Office 4.0.0. Open Office 4.0.1
I see a notice that there is a new version of Apache (4.0.1) with an invitation to download. I checked on my present (4.0.0) version and asked for updates and was told that everything is up to date. Why so? Connecting paragraph styles with numbering (list) styles
I am trying to construct an outline with nested headings for lectures. Following the online manual (ch. 7, p. 259) for Open Office, I can create both Paragraph styles and Numbering styles but I cannot seem to combine them. Could I get some sources of information please? Second problem: I would like to transfer my new styles (if they work) to a document consisting of bits and pieces of previous documents with different styles and configure them to the new style with consistent renumbering. There is no information in the manual on this. Microsoft word seems to have a renumber feature on their Outline mode that renumbers a collections of cut and pasted documents to make the heading in the new document sequential and consistent. Open Office does not seem to have this. True? False? Any reference to solutions would be appreciated. Resetting User Profile
As a computer illiterate, I painfully tried to follow Hagar's suggestion to reset the user profile (I have Windows XP) and got into Folder Options and then File Types where there were a lot of OpenOffice.org 1.1 Configuration Files, each with a different extension, usually of the form S** or X**. No sign of anything saying Path. Should these be deleted? If so, which ones? Open Office Text docs crashing
My Open Office docs have an irritating tendency to crash, not just once, but after they are retrieved, to crash again and again. Recovery works well but after recovery the Merry-go-round often resumes again. Moreover, a message tells me to click Next during the recovery process and I will get to an Error Report Tool to find out reasons for the error. However, no such tool comes up. Any explanations or suggestions? Janis - To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org
