[SOGo] End of Life for Akamai (Inverse) of SOGo development activities and support services
Effective September 1 2022.EOLANNOUNCEMENTEnd of Life for Akamai (Inverse) of SOGo development activities and support servicesDear community user,As part of an End of Life (EOL) process Akamai is terminating all SOGo development activities and support services effective September 1, 2022.While Akamai's involvement with SOGo is ending, Akamai is anticipating that Alinto, a software email provider, will continue to maintain the SOGo open source project. You must contact Alinto directly if you are interested in learning about Alinto and purchasing SOGo support services from Alinto.Should you have questions or concerns about the end-of-life process, please reach out to me to discuss and answer questions that you may have.Regards,Ludovic MarcotteDirector, Product ManagementAkamai Technologies, Inc.
Re: [SOGo] Antwort: Re: sogo new install, users logged out immediatley after login
Hi Harald, Make sure you're accessing SOGo from your browser with the same server-name/server-url defined in your Apache's SOGo.conf file. Otherwise, the cookie won't be valid and you'll be redirected to the login screen. Thanks, On 3/30/22, 2:26 PM, "users-requ...@sogo.nu on behalf of Harald Wegscheider" wrote: Hello Markus, thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately this doesn't change anything, still the same error. Just in case, I also rebooted the whole server, if anything has been cached and used another clean browser for the login. I think I already used every possible way to address the imap server (imap, imaps, hostname and public IP, localhost, 127.0.0.1, with and without TLS). Hi Christian, I've done some tests and I don't have the issue. I guess you'll have to find some reproducible patterns for that issue. We will definitely look at it and fix it once I know how to reproduce it. Thanks, On 10/27/21, 9:38 AM, "users-requ...@sogo.nu on behalf of c...@brain-biotech.de" wrote: Hi, the Problem is I can not reproduce it with my system. But I have 3 users now with the same Problem. I did some tests. -- New Profile does not help The intial sync is OK but as soon as "synchronise" is pressed the errors happen and some calendar entries just vanish (you can see them for 0.5 sec then they are gone) -- Only deactivating the SOGO-plugin help. (restart needed) As soon as I deactivate the Plugin and restart TB everything is there again and the calendar entries are there again. The errors are gone from the error console. -- Deleting the Calaender cache does only help for the initial sync. Every further press on "synchronise" reproduces the problem. Could you explain what the errors (cal.itip.getInvitedAttendee(...) is null) mean. I have a suspicion what the problem could be but I am not yet sure. Re: [SOGo] Thunderbird 91, SOGo Connector
Hi, It probably means you haven't properly customized the SOGo Connector. You should have a custom/mysite directory and in there, a custom/mysite/chrome/content/sogo-connector/general/custom-preferenes.js file in which you'll do a force_char_prefs "sogo-connector.baseURL" with the URL of your SOGo server. Then, you do a "make clean; make build=mysite" and you should be golden. Re: [SOGo] TB78 (again)
Hi Luca, First, make sure you use Thunderbird v78.8.1 - I updated yesterday and some nice CardDAV fixes were added. Also, make sure your using SOGo v5 otherwise you will get incomplete address book syncs, or no sync at all sometimes. Finally, for the "public address book" - there's no longer a live-search option, it's fully sync'ed so make sure you don't have SOGoLDAPQueryLimit set. That might change in the future, but not for v78. Hi, I agree with what John said. As for the status, we basically need to complete the integration with the SOGo Update Server before releasing the extension. If you have a bug with the current beta extension please it at sogo.nu/bugs - with detailed explanations on how to reproduce it. The extension has been working well for me for weeks now - but Thunderbird 78, not so well. I find to be extremely slow and the address book module is a bit buggy. Re: [SOGo] Thunderbird 78 Support
Hi Lukas, I tested the plugin a bit and noticed that I had to put in the full URI for my username into the 'baseURL' -> http://URI.example/SOGo/dav/username/ When I stop at '/dav/' it generates garbage like 'SOGo/dav/Calendar/Calendar' 'SOGo/dav/Calendar/Contacts' etc. and when I only use the 'https://URI.example/' it wont even ask me for a login... Normal for now. That code needs to be adapted because of the RDF removal from Thunderbrd. Also there seems to be an issue with the mail address for the calendars - it states 'nslMsgidentity: caldav_1' That's ok. --- 2. nothing works regarding the SOGo Update Server - as Mozilla dropped entirely the RDF code At least with Enterprise Policy (policies.json) you could kinda set it (to install SOGo Connector globally we already would have to use this anyway starting with TB78) Indeed - I've been more and more questioning the usefulness of the SOGo Update Server. 2. it won't be possible to synchronize lists What a bummer, a much used and wanted feature in the last version - a rather important reason why we are in the middle of moving to SOGo Connector. Are there plans to fix this in the future? If not directly - by borrowing a trick from tbsync and cardbook by using the categories? - Oh wait Categories from SOGo are synced to Thunderbird, but not the otherway around for now. I still need to investigate this. 3. GAL address books from SOGo are fully sync'ed You mean the global address books (people)? This could be a blocker - We have more than 25000 user in there, so this wont work...or? (btw. for now it synced only 200 of them and then stopped). On of the most important features for us, as using ldap directly crashes TB, if the server is not reachable (which it is only in internal network) Normally all entries will be synced - for me it's the case. Perhaps you are reaching other limits on your system. Ideally, on big email systems, the "readOnly" CardDAV address book should be searchable only. I will eventually investigate to see if I can do something about this. Re: [SOGo] Thunderbird 78 Support
Hi Christian, downloaded the newest version this morning. Here are some observations: The default address books like "Personal" and collected addresses" are still displayed after installing the Addon. Cannot delete the Personal Adressbook (The local one from TB). Normal, Thunderbird v78 is now preventing the deletion of these. The LDAP Directory (which is used for SOGo Auth) is in the Address book but not as an LDAP in the Settings. I don't understand what you mean. I can edit Calendar entries which should be read only (saving is not possible but there is no error) Works for me, I only have the view dialog, not the edit one. [SOGo] Thunderbird 78 Support
Hello, Code has just been pushed to https://github.com/inverse-inc/sogo-connector to make SOGo Connector work with Thunderbird 78. This is considered beta stuff. If you want to test it, clone the repo and sogoConfig['baseURL'] in chrome/content/sogo-connector/global/sogo-config.js to point to your SOGo server. Test with a fresh profile. Here are some notes: 1. the SOGo preferences are not yet available in the Thunderbird's preferences panel 2. nothing works regarding the SOGo Update Server - as Mozilla dropped entirely the RDF code 3. the SOGo Connector now uses Thunderbird's built-in CardDAV code. While this code works rather well, there are a few quirks 1. contact categories won't work for now, I am still working on this 2. it won't be possible to synchronize lists 3. GAL address books from SOGo are fully sync'ed Using the CardDAV code from Thunderbird allows us to annihilate a lot of old and broken code we had. We'll follow closely the improvements in Thunderbird and improve our support as we go. More to come real soon. Re: [SOGo] Performance Tuning
Hi, If you've got over 650 EAS users, a PREFORK of 400 will never work. EAS clients will fight to get sogod workers and will leave nothing to the SOGo web interface. Dedicate a SOGo instance to EAS and use a handful of workers for the web interface. See https://sogo.nu/support/faq/dedicated-separate-sogo-instance-for-activesync.html for details. I've handled these problems by making a tuning change and rebooting the server. Within a few hours the problem returns. I haven't been able to find appropriate configuration settings for our environment. We have a little over 14,000 users. I wrote some code which attempts to determine how many users are using ActiveSync. Searching the nginx access logs I'm finding about 650 unique authenticated accounts posting to /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync?User=. I'm only searching logs from the past seven days. I've also attempted to get a rough estimate of current web users by using: netstat | grep http | wc -l I get about 700 returned. I know this isn't completely accurate, but it gives me an estimate. The server running SOGo is Centos 7.6. It's virtualized with 8 CPU and 16 GB of ram. We're a VMware environment. Checking the server performance doesn't show anything significant. CPU is usually around 10% with some spikes. RAM usage is <10GB. Currently my SOGO sysconfig file contains: PREFORK = 400 SOGoMaximumPingInterval = 3540 SOGoMaximumSyncInterval = 3540 SOGoInternalSyncInterval = 30 WOWatchDogRequestTimeout = 5 WOListenQueueSize = 50 I've modified the OS kernel parameters as follows in the sysctl.conf file: net.ipv4.tcp_max_syn_backlog=8192 net.ipv4.tcp_fin_timeout=25 net.core.somaxconn=1280 I run NetData on this server. It was indicating problem with tcp accept queue overflows and drops. This is why I made the changes to sysctl.conf. It's now indicating tcp syn cookies queue is overflowing.
