2022-03-30 Thread Ludovic Marcotte
Hi Harald,

Make sure you're accessing SOGo from your browser with the same
server-name/server-url defined in your Apache's SOGo.conf file. Otherwise, the
cookie won't be valid and you'll be redirected to the login screen.

Thanks,

Hello Markus,

thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately this doesn't change anything,
still the same error.
Just in case, I also rebooted the whole server, if anything has been cached
and used another clean browser for the login.

I think I already used every possible way to address the imap server (imap,
imaps, hostname and public IP, localhost, 127.0.0.1, with and without TLS).

I would suggest to try the following parameters and see, if this makes any
difference:

  SOGoIMAPServer = 127.0.0.1;
  SOGoSMTPServer = 127.0.0.1;

Some time ago I also had a problem to connect to the IMAP server (and I
think to the SMTP server too) and solved it with these values for the
server options. IIRC at that time I tried several combinations (with
imap(s) and with/without port etc.) but only with the parameters shown
above it finally worked. Maybe it's worth a try.

HTH and regards,
Markus

Re: [SOGo] Thunderbird SOGo Plugin

2021-10-27 Thread Ludovic Marcotte
Hi Christian,

I've done some tests and I don't have the issue. I guess you'll have to find
some reproducible patterns for that issue. We will definitely look at it and
fix it once I know how to reproduce it.

Thanks,

Hi,
the Problem is I can not reproduce it with my system. But I have 3 users
now with the same Problem.

Symptoms are. Press "synchronise" and some calendar entries disappear.
Do it again they pop up for half a sec then they are gone again. It is
then always different entries that are gone.

I did some tests.

-- New Profile does not help

The intial sync is OK but as soon as "synchronise" is pressed the
errors happen and some calendar entries just vanish (you can see them
for 0.5 sec then they are gone)

-- Only deactivating the SOGO-plugin help. (restart needed)

As soon as I deactivate the Plugin and restart TB everything is there
again and the calendar entries are there again. The errors are gone from
the error console.

-- Deleting the Calaender cache does only help for the initial sync.
Every further press on "synchronise" reproduces the problem.

Could you explain what the errors (cal.itip.getInvitedAttendee(...) is
null) mean. I have a suspicion what the problem could be but I am not
yet sure.

Hi Christian,

Not for CardDAV-based address books - the Mozilla code doesn't allow it.
Implementing a work-around in the SOGo Connector would be very very messy.

Thanks,

Re: [SOGo] Thunderbird 91, SOGo Connector

2021-08-23 Thread Ludovic Marcotte
Hi,

It probably means you haven't properly customized the SOGo Connector.

You should have a custom/mysite directory and in there, a
custom/mysite/chrome/content/sogo-connector/general/custom-preferenes.js file
in which you'll do a force_char_prefs "sogo-connector.baseURL" with the URL of
your SOGo server.

Then, you do a "make clean; make build=mysite" and you should be golden.

Thanks,

Sorry for the misunderstanding, we did this, of course, too. I did not
mention it before since it is one of the necessary steps according to
the README. But in our case, it won't ask for user credentials at all,
unless we also add the before-mentioned line.

is a read-only checkbox marked that can not be edited, renaming does not
work
- Some texts on the ACL dialogs (calendar and address books) are missing

On the positive side, the ACLs of calendars seem to work better now, at
least the read only calendar I have subscribed is marked as read only in
Thunderbird to. On older Versions I had to fix that manually...

Re: [SOGo] TB78 (again)

2021-03-11 Thread Ludovic Marcotte

Hi Luca,

First, make sure you use Thunderbird v78.8.1 - I updated yesterday and
some nice CardDAV fixes were added.

Also, make sure your using SOGo v5 otherwise you will get incomplete
address book syncs, or no sync at all sometimes.

Finally, for the "public address book" - there's no longer a live-search
option, it's fully sync'ed so make sure you don't have
SOGoLDAPQueryLimit set. That might change in the future, but not for v78.

Thanks,

My personal address book is there, but the public address book is
empty and gives no results when I write something in the search box.

Also, in thunderbird's preferences, the public address book isn't
available in the "directory servers" (localized so my translation may
be wrong), drop down.

The server is 4.3.2

Re: [SOGo] Thunderbird 78+ plugin missing features

2021-01-19 Thread Ludovic Marcotte

Hi Lukas,

so as I often said, for us the two main missing features in the new
Plugin Version being:

- The global read-only addressbook (people)

For this, an approach like that could be used:

https://thunderbird.topicbox.com/groups/addons/Te59c61af548cff18-M2efbc46fa6c695122cd616af

I haven't looked at the code yet but we could do the same.

- Synchronized address lists

Not gonna happen in v78 - the TB78 address book code doesn't allow it
and we can't alter the code (like we do in some places) without
rewriting a ton of code.

Thanks,

My comments are unrelated to the CardDAV code. That code is fine and I

The address book in TB78 was entirely redone - that's where the bugs are

Re: [SOGo] Thunderbird Status

2021-01-15 Thread Ludovic Marcotte

Hi,

I agree with what John said.

As for the status, we basically need to complete the integration with
the SOGo Update Server before releasing the extension.

If you have a bug with the current beta extension please it at
sogo.nu/bugs - with detailed explanations on how to reproduce it.

The extension has been working well for me for weeks now - but
Thunderbird 78, not so well. I find to be extremely slow and the address
book module is a bit buggy. None of that is related to the SOGo
Connector, but it doesn't encourage us to push for it for now.

I think it was just to early to use the MZLA/Mozilla integration of CardDav. I
tried it without the plugin (in 78*) and it was just garbage (it is still on
proof-of-concept level imho). Maybe we just have to skip 78 for good...

I think the only way for even 86 (or whatever will be the next final) to work
properly (with lists, read-only address books, and so on) would be if SOGo and
MZLA could work together on this.

Although on Beta 85 CardDav is enabled by default...

Hi Christian,
I have started with SOGo some time back in 2011 and still love it after about
10 years. It does everything I need and look for and I keep recommending it!
Great work once more and once again!!
This time though I have to admit I am slightly disappointed on whatever happens
around the Plugin for TB78. I have tested it over and over again with varying
results, always using the latest versions of the SW required. And with various
comments here in the mailing list.
But I fully agree, it is not production ready.
So for now I stay on TB68 in Prod and have a test instance with TB78 using
TbSync/provider for CalDAV and CardDAV/Category Manager. That is sort of ok but
nothing I would recommend in larger scenarios. I am really (really really,
Ludovic) looking forward to having a reliably working SOGo Connector for
Thunderbird 78.
What is the bottle neck?
Kind regards

Or am I missing something?

Yes.

Without the SOGo Connector extensions, there's no handling of multiple
identities in Thunderbird associated to a calendar. You can't also
subscribe/unsubscribe calendars directly from Thunderbird by searching
what's shared to you in SOGo. You can't also create/delete CalDAV
calendars. Calendar colors aren't sync'ed, contact categories aren't
sync'ed, custom address books files aren't sync'ed, mail tags aren't
sync and CalDAV ACLs aren't handled at all and few more things.

As you can see, it does quite a lot.

The current 'beta' version of the SOGo Connector is pretty much on par
feature-wise with the latest one for v68 - except regarding the
integration with the SOGo Update Server (because of Mozilla dropped RDF
support) and a few minor things.

You certainly don't want your users starting to toy around that value

Re: [SOGo] Thunderbird 78 Support

2020-09-28 Thread Ludovic Marcotte

Hi Lukas,

I tested the plugin a bit and noticed that I had to put in the full URI
for my username into the 'baseURL' -> http://URI.example/SOGo/dav/username/

When I stop at '/dav/' it generates garbage like
'SOGo/dav/Calendar/Calendar' 'SOGo/dav/Calendar/Contacts' etc. and when
I only use the 'https://URI.example/' it wont even ask me for a login...
Normal for now. That code needs to be adapted because of the RDF removal
from Thunderbrd.

Also there seems to be an issue with the mail address for the calendars
- it states 'nslMsgidentity: caldav_1'

That's ok.

---

2. nothing works regarding the SOGo Update Server - as Mozilla dropped
entirely the RDF code

At least with Enterprise Policy (policies.json) you could kinda set it
(to install SOGo Connector globally we already would have to use this
anyway starting with TB78)
Indeed - I've been more and more questioning the usefulness of the SOGo
Update Server.

2. it won't be possible to synchronize lists

What a bummer, a much used and wanted feature in the last version - a
rather important reason why we are in the middle of moving to SOGo
Connector.

Are there plans to fix this in the future? If not directly - by
borrowing a trick from tbsync and cardbook by using the categories? - Oh
wait
Categories from SOGo are synced to Thunderbird, but not the otherway
around for now. I still need to investigate this.

3. GAL address books from SOGo are fully sync'ed

You mean the global address books (people)? This could be a blocker - We
have more than 25000 user in there, so this wont work...or? (btw. for
now it synced only 200 of them and then stopped). On of the most
important features for us, as using ldap directly crashes TB, if the
server is not reachable (which it is only in internal network)

Normally all entries will be synced - for me it's the case. Perhaps you
are reaching other limits on your system. Ideally, on big email systems,
the "readOnly" CardDAV address book should be searchable only. I will
eventually investigate to see if I can do something about this.

Normal, Thunderbird v78 is now preventing the deletion of these.

The LDAP Directory (which is used for SOGo Auth) is in the Address book but
not as an LDAP in the Settings.

I don't understand what you mean.

I can edit Calendar entries which should be read only (saving is not possible

[SOGo] Thunderbird 78 Support

2020-09-24 Thread Ludovic Marcotte

Hello,

Code has just been pushed to
https://github.com/inverse-inc/sogo-connector to make SOGo Connector
work with Thunderbird 78.

This is considered beta stuff. If you want to test it, clone the repo
and sogoConfig['baseURL'] in
chrome/content/sogo-connector/global/sogo-config.js to point to your
SOGo server. Test with a fresh profile. Here are some notes:

1. the SOGo preferences are not yet available in the Thunderbird's
   preferences panel
2. nothing works regarding the SOGo Update Server - as Mozilla dropped
   entirely the RDF code
3. the SOGo Connector now uses Thunderbird's built-in CardDAV code.
While this code works rather well, there are a few quirks
1. contact categories won't work for now, I am still working on this
2. it won't be possible to synchronize lists
3. GAL address books from SOGo are fully sync'ed

Using the CardDAV code from Thunderbird allows us to annihilate a lot of
old and broken code we had. We'll follow closely the improvements in
Thunderbird and improve our support as we go.

More to come real soon.

Thanks,

And yet those packages are NOT coming from our repo. They are coming

e.g. it changes from Mailinglisten/FOOBAR to MailinglistenFOOBAR and

Likely because it can't grab the separator.

Re: [SOGo] Thunderbird 68

2019-10-11 Thread Ludovic Marcotte

Hello,

A ton of fixes have landed in the SOGo Connector extension for
Thunderbird v68.

Please test it and see the new packaging instructions at
https://github.com/inverse-inc/sogo-connector/blob/master/README.md

If all goes well, next Wednesday there will be an official release.

Thanks!

SOGo Integrator is no longer needed.

You can basically clone the repo, customize
chrome/content/sogo-connector/global/extensions.rdf and type "make" to
have your XPI hot and ready.

There are still some glitches there and there and the SOGo preferences
options (in the new Thunderbird preferences module) are not yet
working. Since the code is available, feel free to open PRs. You can
look at the TODO file for {pers, ins}piration.

It took longer than expected because there are *a lot* of important

happened - and much is due in this regard.

Hello Ludovic,

thanks for putting time into the extension update, I highly appreciate it.

I built and installed the extension, and noticed that, when it is
active, the fonts in my main window (folder and message view) change
from my configured ones to others (main effect being a much larger line
height, therefore less information on the screen).

Should I add a bug, or should this issue be added to the TODO file?

Cheers,

Hi,

SOGo Connector works and is basically completed. Now we need to merge
SOGo Integrator and Connector into a single extension. We have started
and it should be completed next week.

We don't know how we'll name it - perhaps SOGo Connector, SOGo
Integrator or something else. Any suggestions? :)

For sure initially it'll only work with SOGo due to the fact that the
SOGo Integrator will be bundled.

Re: [SOGo] Performance Tuning

2019-09-04 Thread Ludovic Marcotte

Hi,

If you've got over 650 EAS users, a PREFORK of 400 will never work.

EAS clients will fight to get sogod workers and will leave nothing to
the SOGo web interface.

Dedicate a SOGo instance to EAS and use a handful of workers for the web
interface. See
https://sogo.nu/support/faq/dedicated-separate-sogo-instance-for-activesync.html
for details.

A few months ago we began providing SOGo for our students.   It was

found tuning was needed, especially the prefork value.   I was able to
find good values for our installation within a day or two.
We started a new semester a few days ago and our full student body is
using the product.   We've encountered performance problems several
times a day.   I've handled these problems by making a tuning change
and rebooting the server.   Within a few hours the problem returns.
I haven't been able to find appropriate configuration settings for our
environment.
We have a little over 14,000 users.    I wrote some code which
attempts to determine how many users are using ActiveSync.   Searching
the nginx access logs I'm finding about 650 unique authenticated
accounts posting to /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync?User=.   I'm only
searching logs from the past seven days.    I've also attempted to get
a rough estimate of current web users by using:

netstat | grep http | wc -l
I get about 700 returned.   I know this isn't completely accurate, but
it gives me an estimate.
The server running SOGo is Centos 7.6.   It's virtualized with 8 CPU
and 16 GB of ram.   We're a VMware environment. Checking the server
performance doesn't show anything significant.   CPU is usually around
10% with some spikes. RAM usage is <10GB.

Currently my SOGO sysconfig file contains:
PREFORK = 400
SOGoMaximumPingInterval = 3540
SOGoMaximumSyncInterval = 3540
SOGoInternalSyncInterval = 30
WOWatchDogRequestTimeout = 5
WOListenQueueSize = 50
I've modified the OS kernel parameters as follows in the sysctl.conf file:
net.ipv4.tcp_max_syn_backlog=8192
net.ipv4.tcp_fin_timeout=25
net.core.somaxconn=1280
I run NetData on this server.  It was indicating problem with tcp
accept queue overflows and drops.  This is why I made the changes to
sysctl.conf.
It's now indicating tcp syn cookies queue is overflowing.   I'm going
to do some research on this and will make appropriate changes.
Does anyone have any suggestions?  I'm making changes, but the
performance doesn't appear to be improving much.

Install SOPE/SOGo/GNUstep debugging symbols before doing that. See

My PREFORK is at 12, the server is a 12 GB 4 CPU VM. MySQL and Dovecot

My wild guess based on the symptoms you mention is your IMAP server is
running out of available connections. Or, you have EAS clients consuming
all sogod workers.

Do you have ActiveSync clients?

If you see hung processes ("child has been hanging for ..." in the

produce a stack trace. See
