I do not understand anymore. Have I not read somewhere (in an email by

incentive to keep 2 mailing lists on the same subject active.

Hi Charles,

I don't recall seeing anything else from Frank with regard to the list
closing. Did I miss something?

At any rate, I think we're covered. I've got the vboxusers.org web page
up and working. It's just a quick and dirty page that's intended to
point to the working list. My concern was Oracle's list closing and
orphaning all the list members. Now, with the web site being able to
point to Fernando's sourceforge list the chances of us all loosing touch
will be reduced.

The mailing list that I set up on vboxusers.org is working, but there's
no need for it with Fernando's list.

Now, we'll be set if some of the Sun/Oracle employees sign up and participate
on their own time.

Regards,
Lew

Please, Lew, I assumed the concensus was that the sourceforge list was the
one to use as a replacement. In fact, over 100 people have already joined
the sourceforge.net mailing list.

Let's not continue confusing things, otherwise this will end up looking like
a comedy of errors...

I will consider enabling posting from NNTP but at the first sign of a

In case you want me toos for voting purposes, I too use gmane for a
lot of mailing lists, including this one. It makes it easy to follow
large lists, as you can use newsgroup-style access to only download
posts you actually want to read, and kill threads that are of no
interest. It also makes it extremely easy to see a history of older
posts when you join a new mailing list.

As has been said, posting from gmane is a must. And there is no reason
to suppose that there will be more spam because of gmane - I haven't see
any spam of note on any of the three virtualbox mailing lists I read
with gmane.

That might be the case for you, but the fact remains it -IS- bad habit

this AJAX interface needs some redesigning?

As for manners; perhaps you haven't quite figured out that it is not
necessary to cc the person you are replying to on the list. Seems to
reason that if I read the list (while it still exists), that I can see
your reply without you cluttering up my inbox with an additional copy.

Hi everyone,

Fernando has made me co-admin of the list. This is only for

agree. Same as we have now.

Of course, we expect people to continue to be nice. ;)

 Hi everyone,

We had a typo in the above link (now fixed) ... thanks to Marc for
 pointing it out.  :o

 Cheers,

Any chance of adding that to gmane.org for those of us that use nntp for
 our lists?

If that does mean the list will get indexed into a third party site
and the list will get spammed to death, then I´d vote no.

But I´m not sure what gmane.org is so I´m only assuming things. And
I´m too lazy to check right now
