Re: [vchkpw] qmail resending mails

2004-09-29 Thread o k
Thank you very much for help
But what do you mean by: .qmail-name, do you mean by name the mailing list
name?
If so the .qmail-name hasn't inside it the names of the users.
Actually, the first line in your reply is not so clear.
Many thanks for your help.

 Hello

 I'm using qmail-1.03  vpopmail-5.2  ezmlm-0.53.
 A customer complains about sending a mail to mailing list (one time)
the

 This is not the first time this happens, and it stop this duplicates

 a day.

 Is there any solution to this problem?
 Is there anyone facing this problem?

If the list is in a .qmail-name file and that file has an alias (path to
Maildir) line in it, and that use does not exist, then qmail will keep
deliveriing to the list, deferring on the non existant user and
re-attempting
after a timeout period. That is one reason why qmailadmin was switched
to use forwards instead of aliases.

If this is the case, then change all the lines to be forwards of the form:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
etc...

[vchkpw] Courier IMAP + vpopmail/relay-ctrl

2004-09-29 Thread Bill Wichers
I have a strange problem... I'm running Courier IMAP to provide IMAP
service (surprise :-), and relay-ctrl to let roving customers send mail
out through the server. Trouble is while the older Courier v2.2.1 works
fine, the newer v3.0.6 doesn't update any of the files in the allow
directory. Not sure if this is related to vchkpw or not, but I know a lot
of people on the list use this combo and I'm hoping someone else has seen
and fixed this problem before...

The new Courier *does* work for IMAP, and users CAN log in, it just
doesn't mark them with relay-ctrl as being valid. Config is the same as on
the older version.

And unrelated, has anyone had good luck blocking mail from sites with no
reverse DNS entry? I've been seeing loads of relay attempts and bounces
from spammers in China/Korea and none of them have reverses, but I'm
concerned how much legitimate email might be blocked if I do this. Any
recommendations?

Re: [vchkpw] Do hooks exist for vpopmail or its lib?

2004-09-29 Thread Doug Clements
I would recommend a wrapper that does what you need. Rename vadduser or
whatever your management calls, put a script in it's place that does the
special stuff you need and also calls the real vadduser.

Does vpopmail have any hooks available so that when someone adds a

need to take some actions whenever a domain
is added. I am going to have techs adding domains via vqadmin.

Since I didn't know of any hooks, I have cron just looking in each
domains directory (every 15 min) and if it doesn't see the files I want
to be there, then it adds them. But I would rather have a mechinism
that worked more like a trigger/hook.

Run it through tcpserver/daemontools instead.

[vchkpw] vpopmail and procmail

2004-09-29 Thread kalin mintchev
hi all

i have trouble figuring out procmail with vpopmail.

i have compiled the procmail procmail changing this variables in
~/procmail-3.22/src/authenticate.c

#ifndef MAILSPOOLDIR
#define MAILSPOOLDIR/home/vpopmail/domains//* watch the
trailing / */
#endif
#ifndef MAILSPOOLSUFFIX
#define MAILSPOOLSUFFIX / /* suffix to force maildir or MH
style */
#endif
#ifndef MAILSPOOLHASH
#define MAILSPOOLHASH   0  /* 2 would deliver to
/var/spool/mail/b/a/bar */
#endif

then i call .qmail-user file after a domain .qmail-default file like this:
|spamc -u $EXT@$HOST |/usr/local/bin/qmail_procmail

where qmail_procmail is a wrapper script for the procmail with preline

in the .procmailrc file under user/ i have only this (Trash for tests only):
:0:
*
./domain.com/user/Maildir/.Trash/

the mail log says that the delivery is a success and is but mails are not
diverted to the Trash directory..

should i set up MAILSPOOLHASH to 2?! that my was next step...

any ideas welcome. thanks...
