I've documented some troubleshooting pages for getting VNC to work thru a firewall here: http://faq.gotomyvnc.com/fom-serve/cache/63.html Two quick questions though..first, .what error message do you see when it fails to work? And second...have you tried connecting to the VNC servers behind this appliance *without* first establishing a VPN connection to it? -Scott I have created the Custom Virtual server for the systems and created an entry for TCP (port 5800) and UDP (port 5900) for the server. [snip] I'm not sure if it is the only problem, but VNC doesn't use UDP. Port 5900 should be TCP. Also, port 5800 is only needed if you want to use the built in HTTP server to serve the Java viewer. I guess I forgot to mention I did try 5900 as a TCP port first. . Scott, Something I found out which may be the issue is that the vnc servers I am trying to connect to behind the firewall are using the same IP addressing I am using from my home LAN which could be the issue. Both sites are using 192.168.1. addressing. So when I try to go by IP address or name it is looking locally. Right, that's what I thought might be happening: ...have you tried connecting to the VNC servers behind this appliance *without* first establishing a VPN connection to it? So...just try connecting to the VNC servers *without* first establishing a VPN session. Put the external IP address of your DSL connection into your VNC Viewer session; probably the same address that you use in your VPN client. Good luck! -Scott ___ VNC-List mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
