Currently it will display distinct userReferences or clientIP, the number of hits and elapsed time for each, and allow you to list all the log entries for each userRef or IP; it will do a contains search on almost all the columns in the log; and it will list all the server restarts and the log entries leading up to them. Anyone have other suggestions for useful features to add to it? Maybe listing all the entries between two times. This will be an added module to my tango debugging tool which already lets you execute any SQL command against any defined ODBC datasource, execute any tango command, any DOS command, browse your file system and upload, download, edit or tail any file; manage tango variables in any scope including other user's user scope and manage debug mode. If used with R:Base you can add, modify or delete tables and views; manage indexes; edit or display data in any table in a spreadsheet like format; display your db schema and list your settings. Witango-Talk: Perpetuation - (OT)
Dave Shelley's comment reminds me of something I need to arrange. Currently, I have a small business building and hosting sites. Used R:Base for 20 years and have used R:Tango/Witango for the past year. Getting more fluent with it everyday thanks to this list. My son works for me now and I may add more people later, but currently and maybe in the future, I am the only database and Witango support for my company. A prudent business plan would call for backup in the case I am no longer able to provide support for my company. I am turning 50 this year and hope to live to be a 100, but I should plan to protect my clients and family. I am looking for someone or a company to support my Witango apps for my son in the event something happens to me. I would like to periodically provide my source, passwords, etc to this entity. Of course my successor would need to compensate whomever I partner with. Maybe it could be a reciprocal agreement. If you are interested in pursuing this, please contact me off list. Maybe this is something the list would like to discuss. Maybe provide a list of available Perpetuation Support Partners with resumes, credentials, sample of current apps, etc. Thanks Steve Fogelson Internet Commerce Solutions TO UNSUBSCRIBE: send a plain text/US ASCII email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe witango-talk in the message body

Perpetuation vault, In am interested in such a structure. My Insurance company clients ask all the time about that bus that has tried to hit me. Perhaps an online 'vault' for source and applications and a resume list of developers who could take over. I think my clients would be satisfied with that. Now if we could only find someone who could write an application to hold resumes and accept uploads... ~Brian Mowers (734)-981-5899 Canton, MI At 09:44 AM 2/14/2003 -0600, you wrote: Dave Shelley's comment reminds me of something I need to arrange. Witango-Talk: upgrading to W5 studio
I am currently developing on a windows XP machine with witango 4.5 studio and Witango 2000 development server. I want to upgrade to V5, but the small print in the installer says there is no server component. I know that a server development license is coming, but in the meantime, it sounds like I should proceed as follows: 1) uninstall all Witango 2000/4.5 components. 2) install witango 5 server (eval version) 3) install witango 5 studio (registered version) Am I on the right track? Witango-Talk: Javascript reads Tango tags from database
Hi, I'm having a bit of a problem andam not able to figure out how to resolve it. The code below is part of some _javascript_ that generates the sub-menu of a drop-down menu dynamically. Basically, the owner of the web site may go to Administration and assign the Main and Sub-Menu names and HyperLinks. Up until now I have not included the ENCODING="multilinhtml", which was a recent, futal attempt to resolve my problem. With or without it, it works great, until I introducea link toa tango application page, which of course requires a "", ""and "" symbol. Instead of getting these symbols value, I get "lt;", "gt;" and "amp;" in their place, hence why I tried using "ENCODING='multilinehtml'", to no avail. I underlined and highlighted the code lettering that was giving me trouble in red. The line that I entered in the database was:@APPFILEPATHindex.taf?_function=propertyInfo@USERREFERENCEARGUMENT is represented as:lt;@APPFILEPATHgt;index.taf?_function=propertyInfoamp;lt;@USERREFERENCEARGUMENTgt; //-- Create sub-menu --@ROWS START=1 STEP=1 ARRAY="@@Application$SubMenu"@IF EXPR="@@Application$SubMenu[@CURROW,3] = 'y'"@IF EXPR="@@Application$SubMenu[@CURROW,2] = '@@user$MainMenuItem'"appendSTMI("false","@@Application$SubMenu[@CURROW,4]","left","middle","","","-1","-1","0","normal","transparent","transparent","","1","-1","-1","@APPFILEPATHblank.gif","@APPFILEPATHblank.gif","-1","-1","0","","@VAR SubMenu[@CURROW,6] SCOPE='Application' ENDODING='multilinehtml'","_self","Arial","8pt","#00","normal","normal","none","Arial","8pt","#00","normal","normal","none","1","solid","#cc","#cc","#99","#99","#cc","#cc","#99","#99", "@VAR SubMenu[@CURROW,6] SCOPE='Application' ENDODING='multilinehtml'","@APPFILEPATHxp3.gif","@APPFILEPATHxp4.gif","tiled","tiled");/@IF/@IF/@ROWS If anyone can help me it would be GREATLY appreciated. Try encoding=metahtml That way the metatags will be evaluated by the server. However if you have any characters that _javascript_ will choke on, then you may need to wrap a @format tag around it with encoding=_javascript_. Cheers - Original Message - From: Gerard To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, February 14, 2003 2:40 PM Subject: Witango-Talk: _javascript_ reads Tango tags from database Hi, I'm having a bit of a problem andam not able to figure out how to resolve it. Re: Witango-Talk: Windows 2000 Migration
I would recommend using zoneedit for your dns. It is cheap, reliable, and has features you cannot duplicate. http://www.zoneedit.com/ Robert. I need to migrate DNS and IIS to the new 2000 server. The server will have 40 sites and secondary DNS for the primary DNS server. I have been all over Microsoft to see if there was an easy way to do this. I came across an IIS migration tool. Has anyone used this tool? The new server must also take over the hosting of the old one. Eventually I will kill the old server and use the new, but I am looking for a good way of doing this. I would hate to have to set up new IP's and dns by hand. Any ideas ou there? Re: Witango-Talk: branch to relative location
A taf file stores information that is only used by the dev studio and the server ignores. The Dev Studio shows the FullName value in the Details column, not the DocumentName. The server uses this information from the branch action uses this to locate the file on execution: DocumentName/taf/loginlib.taf/DocumentName The Dev Studio uses this so it can find the file when editing: FullNameMacintosh HD\WebSTAR\~ridge\taf\loginlib.taf/FullName When you move files from OS 9 to OS X the path in FullName will more than likely be different and the dev studio will prompt you to find it. The DocumentName should remain the same and if the path is relative in the calling taf you will not have to change your branch. It is a good idea to use relative paths in the Other field of the Path to TAF on Server to make the files portable across different web servers. Also make sure that the path uses / chars as directory separators, not the old : notation or a \ char. The branch actions, in the dev studio allow for same path or other path. These tafs always show the absolute path of the development machine. That makes it impossible to move a taf to a machine with a different file structure. When I look at the xml in a text editor, I can see that what shows in the dev studio isn't what's actually operational. Example: DocumentNameServer HD\Applications\4DWebstar\~ridge\taf\loginlib.tafloginlib.taf/ DocumentName FullNameMacintosh HD\WebSTAR\~ridge\taf\loginlib.taf/FullName So now I can see that the dev studio isn't showing what the real path is, which would count as a bug in my book. Pending a repair, can someone tell me how to put in a relative path that will work? Either same directory or child directory? I DON'T want an absolute path as it makes applications not transportable. Do I use forward or backward slashes for OS X?, etc...
