If you have the entire log post it somewhere. There may be a custom action or something else in the UI sequence that won't happen in the execute sequence, just as possible reasons. --- Phil Wilson On Fri, Jul 3, 2015 at 3:29 AM, AleksL lyas...@gmail.com wrote: Hello. Re: [WiX-users] Adding temporary file to the Binary table
Add the file as a binary resource to your custom action and stream it from there? Or use the api to read it from the binary table. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/icumove/archive/2009/06/23/custom-action-using-wix-reading-from-the-binary-table.aspx It's usually easier to just install the file and then read it, but that depends on when the CA is scheduled. Subject: [WiX-users] Adding temporary file to the Binary table Dear WiX Support, I've been trying to add a text file to an MSI package to be used by a custom action, but without success. I have added two files to the Binary table as shown below. Binary Id=CustomActions.dll SourceFile=..\CustomAction1\bin\Release\CustomAction1.CA.dll / Binary Id=products.ini SourceFile=.\products.ini / At install runtime, I saw only CustomAction1.dll in the WiX temp folder (example: C:\Windows\Installer\MSI5F76.tmp-). Is there any way I can add the text file to the package without installing it, and access it at install runtime?
