[wp-testers] Ticket #12367 (closed defect (bug): wontfix)
I am not much of a programmer and don't understand all the inner workings of programming logic. This is the closed Ticket. http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/12367 I installed XAMPP 1.73 (which I guess is PHP 5.3 on a local host and also am trying out WP3.02 If you go to the admin panel you get over 100 errors showing up in two of the Dashboard Windows. The fix is to replace new with new in the file \wp-includes\class-simplepie.php (116 times) The Trac ticket is closed because it needs to stay PHP4 compatible. What I am wondering is with many add-ons needing PHP5 minimum aren't a whole lot more people going to run into this rather irritating error on their first visit to the Dashboard? There must be a way to scope out which version of PHP is being used? ___ wp-testers mailing list wp-testers@lists.automattic.com http://lists.automattic.com/mailman/listinfo/wp-testers
Re: [wp-testers] Ticket #12367 (closed defect (bug): wontfix)
the reporting on deprecated language is dependent on how you configure your error reporting and error display settings in php.ini (or runtime). a well configured production platform will not expose these errors to users. Re: [wp-testers] 404 error page redirect not working for
IIRC this happened under older MU .htaccess rewrite rules. We've changed them in 3.0. If this was an MU to 3.0 upgrade, you'll probably want to manually update the rules. If you're running a subdomain install, you don't even need the ones that are messing with this. Unfortunately, rules are dynamically generated, and I think Tools Network is blocked for MU-upgraded sites as it is useless. But I guess we should open that up for now so the newer rules can be displayed. On 5/9/10, Philip M. Re: [wp-testers] 2 Categories check boxes listed in Screen options on the Menus page.
It turned out that the Simple Tags plugin was causing the problem. I had been doing some plugin compatibility testing and when I (thought I had) deactivated all the plugins, Simple Tags was left active which caused the problem. When I deactivated Simple Tags the extra Categories check box was gone from the Menus Screen options. Oops :-) On 05/09/2010 08:40 AM, Mark Duncan wrote: Sounds like you have a custom taxonomy registered that also uses Categories as it's label, i see this myself as i have registered a category taxonomy for pages, however, i've named mine Page Categories so i can see a clear difference, you may not have. [wp-testers] Export bugs
I had posted this in the forum and realized it is really here that I should post this... I exported my blog from blogger and they changed it to XML. I imported the resulting file to a test WP3.0b1 install. This went well. Careful checking showed that it appears all my stuff came across. Some users did test comments and I created some test pages and posts. All was working fine. I upgraded to WP3.0b2 and this appeared to go well. There were: Posts: 985 published Posts: 423 drafts Pages: 9 Comments: 6,952 Life is good in WP land. I exported all of my blog from WP3.0b2 to an XML file#2. I created another WP3.0b2 install on another server. I imported the XML file#2 to my second WP3.0b2 install. There are: Posts: 906 published Posts: 317 drafts Pages: 9 Comments: 6,218 Life is not so good in WP Land. A lot of posts and comments were lost. Since the import from blogger worked fine I suspect that the problem is on the export side. But I did change from 3.0b1 to 3.0b2 between those imports so no guarantees. Appears to be a bug in import. These are test sites. Let me know if I you need more details. After posting that I found another problem with the exporter in 3.0b2. It is stripping my code from posts and modifying other code. Naughty. For example, I had: centerimg src=http://SugarMtnFarm.com/blog/uploaded_images2009/ PinkPiggyPalace0064w.jpg /smalliFoam Insulation Inside Forms/ i/small/center On exporting WP changed my post to look like this: img src=http://SugarMtnFarm.com/blog/uploaded_images2009/ PinkPiggyPalace0064w.jpg alt= /br / emFoam Insulation Inside Forms/em It stripped my HTML center and changed my i (italic) to em. I like i better. It also stripped my small tags. This does not give the same look to my pages. I want my pictures centered, my subtitles in smaller type and italicized. The export should not be stripping code. Even if center and i are depreciated WP should still not be stripping them without permission since it changes the look and content. Re: [wp-testers] 404 error page redirect not working for
Nacin, probably not the perfect person for this one, although the diff looks good, there's one url rewrite code that's messing with me, basically both sets in the .diff work great except the subdomain one has one issue. On the MAIN site, not subdomain (subdomains are working fine) but the 404 redirect on the MAIN site does not work. ?xml version=1.0 encoding=UTF-8? configuration system.webServer rewrite rules rule name=WordPress Rule 1 stopProcessing=true match url=^index\.php$ ignoreCase=false / action type=None / /rule rule name=WordPress Rule 2 stopProcessing=true match url=^files/(.+) ignoreCase=false / action type=Rewrite url=wp-includes/ms-files.php?file={R:1} appendQueryString=false / /rule rule name=WordPress Rule 3 stopProcessing=true match url=^ ignoreCase=false / conditions logicalGrouping=MatchAny add input={REQUEST_FILENAME} matchType=IsFile ignoreCase=false / add input={REQUEST_FILENAME} matchType=IsDirectory ignoreCase=false / /conditions action type=None / /rule rule name=WordPress Rule 4 stopProcessing=true match url=. ignoreCase=false / action type=Rewrite url=index.php / /rule /rules /rewrite /system.webServer /configuration - Original Message - From: Andrew Nacin w...@andrewnacin.com To: wp-testers@lists.automattic.com Sent: Sunday, May 09, 2010 8:10 AM Subject: Re: [wp-testers] 404 error page redirect not working for IIRC this happened under older MU .htaccess rewrite rules. Re: [wp-testers] Export bugs
Hi Walter, I got the XML file that blogger provided you with and tried several different import/export/import options but could not reproduce the error. I got the same amount of posts and drafts each time (985/423). This includes the following scenarios: * imported blogger file to 3.0b1 / upgraded to 3.0b2 / exported / imported into another 3.0b2 * importing blogger file to wp 2.9 / exporting / importing to fresh 3.0b1 * importing blogger file to wp 2.9 / exporting / importing to fresh 3.0b2 * importing blogger file to 3.0b1 / exporting / importing to fresh 3.0b1 * importing blogger file to 3.0b1 / exporting / importing to fresh 3.0b2 * importing blogger file to 3.0b1 / upgrading to 3.0b2 / exporting / importing to fresh 3.0b2 All of these created the same result (full import of all published and draft posts). All of my installations were on my localhost. As you mentioned before, this is a bunch (maybe even alot) of data. It may be the case that the export or the import script timed out in the middle of the process. What was the size of your wp export file? All of mine were right around 13mb. Is that what you tried? It looks like your first scenerio below is that. I have not tried anything with 2.9. I'm on a relatively slow connection so each pass takes a long time. My files were 12.3MB and 12.8MB, so about 13MB. Sounds like I need to try it again and hopefully it was some sort of error although none was given by WP. If timeout was the problem then maybe it will do it right the next time. What is the best way for me to delete all the posts and comments? I can just destroy the install and start from scratch. [wp-testers] Plugin Installer and Updater no longer working after last night's build
All plugin installs and upgrades are now stalling at the unpacking stage after updating to last nights build. It worked fine yesterday and it works on all of the blogs running 2.9.2 on the same server. I have tried it on 6 different plugins and it stalls on everyone of them but they can all be successfully installed/upgraded on other blogs on that server. ___ wp-testers mailing list wp-testers@lists.automattic.com http://lists.automattic.com/mailman/listinfo/wp-testers
[wp-testers] wp_nav_menu item classnames
When using the new *wp_nav_menu*, and selecting existing Pages as your menu items, has anyone been able to output the post_name (Page slug) as a classname for each specific menu item? It seems you are able to define the classname when you create a custom link for your menu, but it doesn't define a classname when using an existing page as a menu item. -jeremy ___ wp-testers mailing list wp-testers@lists.automattic.com http://lists.automattic.com/mailman/listinfo/wp-testers
Re: [wp-testers] Plugin Installer and Updater no longer working after last night's build
The only thing I can think we changed the default memory_limit of administrators in the admin area, overriding the default 32MB and bumping it to 256MB. We also bump to 256MB in various other locations, such as when we unpack, etc. You can confirm that it works if you update to a revision 14491? That would have been in the nightly build generated late on May 6. What was the last revision you had it working in?
