Re: [WSG] Accessibility and HTML Emails
You can have a look at The Email Standards Project http://www.email-standards.org/ for information. Also, if you want to build a set of guidelines that will work in the future, you might want to read these two: Microsoft to ignore web standards in Outlook 2010 - enough is enough http://www.email-standards.org/blog/entry/microsoft-to-ignore-web-standards/ Microsoft responds to our call for standards support http://www.email-standards.org/blog/entry/microsoft-respond-to-our-call-for-standards-support/ S. Dear Alan, Mr. Hunkin is blind. Cut him some slack. Before cutting down his (or anyone else's) coding skills, maybe you should fix the errors on your own home page. wink S. [WSG] W3C Validators in Jeopardy
...That we've had the use of validation tools via the W3C for so long and without cost has been a significant component in the teaching and evangelism surrounding Web standards and best practices. To lose these tools would impact that message, not to mention take a certain amount of quality assurance away from the process http://www.molly.com/2008/12/11/w3c-validators-in-jeopardy/ S. Re: [WSG] Web governance
Andrew, Seeing you have not had any other ideas presented, how about: a) Using the Web Style Guide as a basis for creating your own web style guide for the agency? http://webstyleguide.com/ The 2nd Edition is available online. The 3rd Edition is available for purchase. b) You could also use the Chicago Manual of Style Online for some ideas. http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/home.html c) Add that the website has to follow the chosen W3C spec. and validate. You can also Google web style guide and web style guide examples to see other web style guides that have been developed. Ask if the agency has a style guide already for the printed and marketing materials. You can incorporate the applicable parts into the web style guide (e.g. logo use, colour scheme) Hope that helps get you started at least. S. [WSG] Accessible - Standard Compliant - Club Membership System
Does any one have a recommendation on a club management system that: 1. is accessible. 2. Uses XHTML. 3. Does not use tables preferably. 4. Supports separate departments based on location. 5. Each location head can modify the pages applicable to their location. Thanks for any input you can provide. S.R. Fw: [WSG] Accessible Open Source CMS
I asked a person I know that is physically challenged about Wordpress and she doesn't have any problems with it. Found this review: http://juicystudio.com/article/choosing-an-accessible-cms.php Look at comment #27 - submitted by a visually impaired user who uses JAWS screen reader. S. R.
