[X2Go-Dev] Bug#577: Full-screen mode spans multiple local displays
Package: x2goclient Version: 4.0.2.1 When I start a remote session with x2goclient, and the local machine has a dual-head monitor setup (using xinerama), switching the session to fullscreen mode (via Ctrl-Alt-F) causes the remote session's desktop to span across both local monitors, instead of just one monitor. To reproduce / demonstrate: 1. set up the local machine to run a standard desktop environment (e.g. gnome or LXDE) with two monitors (i.e. use xrandr to specify the relative locations, orientations, and dimensions of the displays). 2. connect to a remote XFCE session with x2goclient, then open up a single terminal window in this remote session and maximize it. 3. press Ctrl-Alt-F to toggle (enable) full-screen mode. The result will be that the terminal window is split in half, and spread across both monitors. The desired behavior is that the x2goclient fullscreen window only spans a single (user-selected) display. I am using Ubuntu 14.04 (i686), and my display controller is listed as Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/GME, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03). ___ x2go-dev mailing list x2go-dev@lists.x2go.org http://lists.x2go.org/listinfo/x2go-dev

[X2Go-Dev] Bug#580: X2Go Client writes Qt class names to .x2goclient/sessions
Hi Alex, (Keeping your message unshortened to make sure all information is included with the history of bug #580 in BTS). On Mi 20 Aug 2014 13:54:04 CEST, Oleksandr Shneyder wrote: Hi Mike, Am 20.08.2014 13:30, schrieb Mike Gabriel: Package: x2goclient Severity: important Version: 4.0.3.0-preview Hi Alex, the new folder browser implementation in X2Go Client writes QtByteArray objects to .x2goclient/sessions. [General] TEST_FOLDER=ByteArray() [sessionid1] ... This information cannot be handled by PyHoca-GUI / Python X2Go. I understand that this is needed to store empty folder icons in the sessions file. To reproduce... 1. create a session profile in the base folder 2. create a new folder and place the above session into that folder 3. after I have created that folder, the above TEST_FOLDER entry under General appears 4. if I then add an icon to that folder, the ByteArray gets filled with content. All this information can only be handled via Qt applications. Is it possible to write the information in a different format? E.g. base64 encoded string (raw image data) + the file format (- base64data.png)? Yes, it is possible. I'll check if I have a time to do this till weekend. THANKS!!! A change of this approach before 4.0.3.0 release will be highly appreciated... Also we should not use [General] here as the ini file section. How about: [Folders] or [SessionFolders]? No, it is the only way to keep compatibility with older versions of X2Go client. All groups in ini file identified from client as sessions. If we save the icons in group Folder, older versions of x2go client will identify this group as session with id Folder. Save this icons in other ini file is not an option neither (x2gobroker) Ah, ok. Good point. Agreeing here. I wonder if we should prefix the folder name by something: TEST_FOLDER=data.format - SessionsFolder::TEST_FOLDER=data.format Or something like that... Also: So, if there is an ini section named [General], it should get ignored by Python X2Go, right? Thank you :) Do you have any clue what this issue may be related to? As I don't have any of the failing apps on Debian, I cannot reproduce your test results right away. 2 possible theories: 1. We are not integrating with ConsoleKit and/or logind properly. (Although it appears that our integration with logind is better, since Fedora 20 works better than CentOS 6.) 2. We have issues with the polcykit authentication windows not being permitted to show up. I think that there is different behavior when using XDMCP. I'll double check after work. Also, Red Hat has some KB articles on this subject. I noticed them after I bought a RHEL subscription for home. I'll look over them again, and update this bug with any relevant info. Any hint, if this issues also occurs on Debian? I can test this with VMs. I've already created some Debian VMs for compatibility testing with X2Go. Which of the 3 releases (squeeze, wheezy and jessie) should I test? Squeeze is similar to CentOS 6 in terms of versions of packages like ConsoleKit.
