During the update I saw some modules that were sound related fail to load. I have a 4.0.0 kernel where the Ubuntu ships with 3.19.0. I'll undo that in a bit and see if it fixes sound on the server, but X2Go client is working fine, sound included, on Ubuntu 15.04. as X2Go Server does not require any hardware driver, Kernel mod loading failures should not be a problem at all. For what I can tell, the server does send an empty identification string to the libssh client and the client bails out due to that. With the debug sshd and the SSH tunnel as established via the -L... command line last time running, what's the output of running (on the OS X client): printf \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n | nc -w3 127.0.0.1 18935 That should return something like SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_6.7p1 Debian-3. Sorry, I cannot connect to the VPN to access my RH 7 test machine for some reason, so I couldn't run it against that box. If that works fine, it's likely not an connection issue per se. First of all, I wish to express my gratitude to Kevin for his prompt, kind and generous response. thanks for your feedback. Let us wait for Francesco, our expert on license issues, and see what he thinks about your feedback. I think that this is an important first step to solve this issue for the best. Kevin Vigor is one of the copyright owners of the code that was forked before the re-licensing. We now know that he intended the re-licensing to be retroactive and this is really good. I think that now it would be useful to ascertain that the other copyright owners (Brian Pane, Zachary Vonler, Gian Filippo Pinzari) are also OK with this interpretation of the re-licensing operation. Maybe Kevin is able to dig the original conversations (assuming they were carried on by e-mail or similar archived means) or otherwise to get in touch with them and check? Or, alternatively, Kevin could help Mike to get in touch with them? I hope everything may be settled for the best soon. [X2Go-Dev] Bug#864: Code for both Qt4 and Qt5
As mentioned here, code can be ported to Qt5 while retaining compatibility with Qt4: http://blog.qt.io/blog/2012/12/19/qt-5-0/ If/when we do port to Qt5, we should maintain compatibility with Qt4. For example, RHEL 7 CentOS 7 include Qt4, but not Qt5. Qt5 is available from EPEL, but EPEL makes Qt5 follow EPEL's rolling-release model. So to reduce risk to our users, we should keep the EL7 builds on Qt4. ___ x2go-dev mailing list x2go-dev@lists.x2go.org http://lists.x2go.org/listinfo/x2go-dev
