[XFree86] termcap Library Error
Dear Team, I downloaded Xfree86-4.5.0. The build fails indicating that it cannot find termcap library. In xc/lib folder, I do not find termcap folder containing sources. Other libraries are present along with their sources. Do I need to download termcap sources separately and build in the form of library. [XFree86] Need a configuration file(XF86Config) on Redhat Linux 7.2 for Mercury Mother Board(P4PM800M7) with Via Chipset
Hello,I am facing problems installing Redhat Linux 7.2 on my assembled PC.I couldnt get GUI after installing Redhat LINUX 7.2, may bebecause of improper config setting. Dear All, I am using Red Hat Linux 9.0 with glib 3.3 and kernel 2.4.20-8 versions. The XServer crashed when I tried to read the contents of the /dev/mem file and /proc/kmem file using the cat command inorder to retrieve the contents of the physical memory. As suggested in the kernel dump, here I am attaching the XFree86.0.log file. What is wrong with the /dev/mem and /proc/kmem files and how they are related to XServer crash? Am I missing any configuration file variable? Please provide a pointer to the solution or any link to study. The same situation is repeating in every Linux box whenever I am performing some operations on /dev/mem and /proc/kmem files. Regards. XFree86.0.log Description: XFree86.0.log

I Got A Compaq Pc with P-4 Processor on linux 7.1 My X-Windows is not working. As Soon as it goes to Prompt, it blinks then it comes back to prompt, waits for 10seconds or so then switches to runlevel 3 again i will get prompt?? I Want to Have X -windows.. I Run Xinstall.sh Found that i need linux-ix86-glibc22 I Down Loaded it. Installed. But My XFree86 -configure is Giving Errors.. It just blinks Shows Fatal server error : (EE) Failed to load module glide ( a required submodule could not be loaded) Any Suggestins are WELCOME??? [Newbie]DRI and XFree86 PLEAZE HELP
Hi, I was reading the DRI compilation guide in XFR86 4.1.0 documentation set. It says that DRI is a subset of the XFree86's xc tree. For downloading it says to download from the dri.sf.net CVS ??? i am a bit confused by this, if DRI is a subset of Xfree86 , is it not a part of the XFr86 CVS tree ??? if i download the xc tree from XFR86 CVS , will it not contain the DRI subtree ? if not then , how the two link to each other. i mean, if i download the xc from CVS at dri.sf.net is it enough or i need the xc from xfree86 CVS as well.
