I'm still ramping up on Linux and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction on this. I need to understand the relationship between the vBIOS, the graphics driver (Generic) and Linux itself. Basically, I am trying to understand how the list of selectable resolution/modes is generated for a platform.
If anybody can explain it, that would be great. If you can point me to a document that would be appreciated too.
