[XFree86] Resolution not setting automatically
After installing debian in one pc connected to the monitor it sets resolution automatically. So i disconnect that monitor and attach some Projector and booted my OS then its not automatically setting resolution. If i tried to reduce or increaase the resolution its not showing any other resolution options except 640x800.So how can i make OS (debian based) to autoconfigure for any monitor connected at the runtime. Everytime giving dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg is very tedious Any other alternative Regards: U M A R Relax. Yahoo! Mail virus scanning helps detect nasty viruses!
[XFree86] resolution
Hi! I have a Clevo M55G notebook with 1400x1050 resolution, and SuSE 10.0 system. The installer creates a modeline for this resolution, but the X server silently ignores this, and uses the next built-in resolution (1280x1024). If I create a modeline by hand, it is accepted only for some known resolutions (640x480, 1024x768, etc), but if I only change the displayed pixels, the modeline is ignored (without error messages). How can I create modeline for such a resolution? The original modeline: ModeLine 1400x1050 122.61 1400 1488 1640 1880 1050 1051 1054 1087 This is not accepted. If I change the displayed pixels: ModeLine 1400x1050 122.61 1280 1488 1640 1880 1024 1051 1054 1087 This uses the same timings, but 1280x1024 window. It is accepted, and working properly. Why the previous one is rejected? Regards, Gyorgy Kovesdi A hat lúzer újra együtt! [XFree86] Resolution Improperly Set
I have a system that has to support a 17inch and 15inch LCD monitor. I want the 17 inch monitor to support 1280x1024 and the 15 inch to only support 1024. When the system boots up the 15 inch monitor is put into virtual 1280 mode (even though the logs correctly identify its max resolution as 1024). It is stretched beyond the screen, and scaled to look really bad. How can I force monitors to support their top native resolution? ___ XFree86 mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86
[XFree86] resolution problems with SGI 1600SW
Sorry, I sent this from the wrong address the first time. Hello, I have been having some problems setting up my SGI 1600SW to display correctly with XFree86 4.3. Here is my setup. XFree86-4.3 ATI Radion 7500 (Using DVI) SGI 1600SW (via multilink adapter) I located the correct modeline here for my monitor: http://www.xfree86.org/4.3.0/I1284.html#4 But for some reason the Multilink adapter reports that it's running at 1280x1024 even though xdpyinfo says that X is running at 1600x1024. I found a few folks with similar issues but none that helped me figure out the problem. http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=xfree86m=104947172314323w=2 http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20844goto=nextoldest If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. [XFree86] XFree86 resolution problem (solved)
hi all, I had compiled Xfree86 configured with XFree86 -configure edited XF86Config to my likings when running the server, the only available resolution was 640x480 in the log files, the problem appeared to be the horizontal sync and the vertical refresh rates that were not set. solution to problem was: get yr refresh rates the way they should be or the X server will fail to use your screen modes in your config-file hope this helps anyone Pieter ___ XFree86 mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86
[XFree86] Resolution problem on Gateway M305X laptop
Greetings, I am having difficulty getting my m305x gateway laptop to run at the advertised 1024x768 18bit color depth. The best resolution that I have been able to get is 800x600. It seemed to work under WinXP, but that is gone now :) The system is running Fedora Core 1, the chipset is Intel 852GM and X seems to be using the i810 driver. The Gateway specs on this machine say regarding the display: 15.0 XGA TFT Active Matrix Color Display 1024x768 @ 18 bit (262K) Colors. I don't have the laptop with me at work today and I did not bring a copy of XF86Config, but I do have a 'Display' subsection in the 'Screen' section that sets the depth to 16 and the resolution to 1024x768. I can provide XF86Config tomorrow if needed. My XFree86.0.log is attached. There you can see that I don't seem to have the BIOS related stolen memory problem (where the bios only allocates 1M video ram instead of 8M).
