[XFree86] XFRee problem
Hello, I Tried to install XFree86 on my PII/233 system but I don't get the configuration right. I have a Iiyama Vision Master 403 17 monitor and an S3 TrioV64 with 86C775. The graphhical installation of RedHat 8 works fine but configuring of the XFRee86 during the installation and later by editing the XF86Config file (after copying it offcourse) wont't result in a working environment. I get the message: Assigning device section with no busID to primary device (EE) No devices detected. Fatal server error: no screens found But my screen is configured in the config file. Maybe I make a big mistake somewhere but I can't find out where so I hope you can help me. For your information I attach the XF86Config file and the XFree86.0.log file to this email Thanks in advance, Jan Krijtenburg Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] URL: http://www.krijtenburg.nl XFree86 Version 4.2.0 (Red Hat Linux release: 4.2.0-72) / X Window System (protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6600) Release Date: 23 January 2002 If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your card is newer than the above date, look for a newer version before reporting problems.
