youd haven't configured X properly, because there is no config file. try
using xf86config or X -configure...

[XFree86] XFRee problem

2003-10-01 Thread Jan Krijtenburg
Hello,

I Tried to install XFree86 on my PII/233 system but I don't get the
configuration right.
I have a Iiyama Vision Master 403 17 monitor and an S3 TrioV64 with
86C775. The graphhical installation of RedHat 8 works fine but
configuring of the XFRee86 during the installation and later by editing
the XF86Config file (after copying it offcourse) wont't result in a
working environment.
I get the message:

Assigning device section with no busID to primary device
   (EE) No devices detected.
   Fatal server error:
   no screens found
But my screen is configured in the config file.
Maybe I make a big mistake somewhere but I can't find out where so I
hope you can help me.

For your information I attach the XF86Config file and the XFree86.0.log
file to this email

Thanks in advance,

Jan Krijtenburg
