X (from 4.2.0 I think and more recent) has been ported to the Windows API.
Look for Cygwin : http://cygwin.com/ and http://cygwin.com/xfree/
The current CVS shall have all that is needed to compile under Cygwin.

I use it intensively at work, and it works quite OK (if not great!). I don't
use very odd features (mostly xterms) and it crashed onlyonce on me.
