Re: [XFree86] CVS error on command line?

2005-04-02 Thread Alan Cooney
Sorry, Im away for a few weeks and dnt hav a linux machine wiv me,
plaes send ur request for help again and someone else will help.
Heres ur orriginal message:

Hello,
on page http://www.xfree86.org/cvs/ where there are instructions for
access the CVS repository. I copied the command below:

snip
If you do not want to set $CVSROOT instead you can run cvs as:

cvs -d [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvs
/snip

... to my terminal and it didn't accept it! I.e., it told me I had a
wrong command line.
I am not sure what went wrong, since there is no mention of version
requirement or anything like that. :(
Anyway, I use the version of cvs: Concurrent Versions System (CVS)
1.11.14 (client/server) and ssh version: OpenSSH_3.8p1, SSH protocols
1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004.

Thanks in advance,
Dedeco

That is the initial part of the cvs command, not a complete command in
itself. You still have to tell it what you want to do. For example:

cvs -d [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvs co xc

will checkout the main source tree.

I get this exact same error with CVS of last night (20:00 GMT), so
I'd also be interested in the answer to this one.

   Thanks,
   Hugo.
