RE: [XFree86] Fw: bug or config pb?
Try adjusting your horizontal sync value in your config file. That appears to be the cause of most of your modes not working. -Original Message- From: emmanuel simonnet [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, April 01, 2003 2:33 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [XFree86] Fw: bug or config pb? ___ XFree86 mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86
Re: [XFree86] Fw: bug or config pb?
Thank you I did it several times but it seems not to look at it.Whatever range value i put in horizsync ,i still have the same error and i see in the log that it takes default values (28-33Khz) Is there anything i can try? - Original Message - From: Cynthia Grossen [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, April 01, 2003 4:32 PM Subject: RE: [XFree86] Fw: bug or config pb? RE: [XFree86] Fw: bug or config pb?
You may want to try editing the file by hand or using the X tool to generate the file. (xf86cfg) You'll need to be out of X to use xf86cfg though. -Original Message- From: emmanuel simonnet [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, April 01, 2003 1:57 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [XFree86] Fw: bug or config pb? ___ XFree86 mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86
Re: [XFree86] Fw: bug or config pb?
Of course,i'm out of X. My pb is that i can't start X so no way to configure it from X window. I edited the file /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 tens of times changing Horizsync values and vrefresh in the Monitor section and whatever i tried, always the same answer and quite the same log (did you read it,i joined it with my first msg). I also tried the xf86config command that generates a xf86config file entering the values corresponding to my monitor, and ...same thing. I'd like to understand why is it always using the default values for horizsync instead of mine(or does it mean that mine are false?) - Original Message - From: Cynthia Grossen [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, April 01, 2003 10:48 PM Subject: RE: [XFree86] Fw: bug or config pb? RE: [XFree86] Fw: bug or config pb?
Not the xf86config cmd, the xf86cfg cmd. Your xf86config-4 file said that it was generated by XFDrake which is a gui app unless I'm mistaken. Are you sure you are modifying the correct config file? Re: [XFree86] Fw: bug or config pb?
i tried the option NoDDC without success :( (NoDDC1 or/and NoDDC2 neither) :( :( I just don't have the [(II) RADEON(0): I2C device DDC:ddc2 registered at address 0xA0. (II) RADEON(0): I2C device DDC:ddc2 removed.] lines in the log file but the line after is the same :monitor1:using default hsync range of 28-33kHz. i noticed that just before loading submodule ddc there the line: CloneDisplay option not set --defaulting to auto-detect. is there a way to prevent from using auto-detect(may be that's the pb)? - Original Message - From: Ken Marx [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, April 01, 2003 10:59 PM Subject: [XFree86] Fw: bug or config pb? Hi, I'm pretty new to all this, but you might try Option NoDDC in the device section. It might allow your sync values to be honored at least. (There are NoDDC1 and NoDDC2 flavors.) I think they also work from the monitor section. k. -- Ken Marx, [EMAIL PROTECTED] We are obligated to optimize and slam dunk the realistic goals. - http://www.bigshed.com/cgi-bin/speak.cgi ___ XFree86 mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86
