Re: [XFree86] Red hat 9

2005-10-26 Thread Mark Vojkovich
You've specified /dev/mouse as your input device. According
to the server that device does not exist. Perhaps your mouse
is really at /dev/psaux? Eg, the Section InputDevice in your
XF86Config file should have a line like:

Option Device /dev/psaux

Re: [XFree86] Red Hat 9 - Flatron, Mouse Troubleshooting

2003-09-26 Thread Mark Vojkovich

   Hello,

I have had problems using Red Hat 9 with a LG Flatron monitor. After
installing RH9, the following message is shown:

   Impossible to execute X server.

I can use the graphical interface but with low resolution (800 x 600).
Besides that, my Genius Netscroll+ mouse also presents a problem because I
can not see the arrow. Here is the configuration:

You can't use more than 800x600 because you've specified your
monitor specifications as one of a simple vga monitor.

(II) NV(0): Monitor0: Using hsync range of 31.50-37.90 kHz
(II) NV(0): Monitor0: Using vrefresh range of 50.00-70.00 Hz

According to information I see on the web your Monitor section
in the XF86Config should have

HorizSync 30 - 96
VertRefresh 50 - 160

I don't know about the missing cursor. I've heard one other
report on that on nForce, but I've not reproduced it myself. You
should be able to get it back with

   Option SWCursor

in the Section Device of the XF86Config.

RE: [XFree86] red hat 9

2003-06-26 Thread News/Info
Your font server is not starting (started).

xfs is a font server for X

either comment out the 'FontPath' line or,

a better approach is to make sure that xfs is installed, configured, and
started as part of your normal boot process.

you can use ntsysv to make sure the xfs service starts during the boot
process.

intelegi?
