Hi all, Thanks for your prompt answers. I tried all the advices you all provided here I found that there is nothing do with the smtprelay saettings. While I try to send mail in command line (I am using linux) like this: mail xxx(at)yyy.com subject: this is a test test .. CC: I get this error: cannot move file /var/MailRoot/spool/temp/*.*.mail Any more hints on this one?? [xmail] php mail() function and smtp relay settings
Hi, I have set up my smtp server to be a secure smtp server. Only users have pop3 accounts are allowed to send mail thru the server. On the other hand, I need to use php's mail() function for my website. It seems that I no longer can use the mail() function after I change the setting. Can anyone help. Hello, Finally, I compiled the glst modules by adding Davide's mkdep scripts and a .depend file. Then I run it by adding this line /var/MailRoot/bin/glst --mfile @@FILE into the filters.pre-data.tab. Then I run xmail under debug mode. I can see that the filter is triggered but it give retcode = 2. Does the filter run correctly?? Hello, When I try to compile the new glst module. I get the following error: # make -f Makefile.unx Makefile.unx:81: .depend: No such file or directory mkdep -f .depend -I. -DUNIX -DLINUX ./glst.c ./dbdump.c ./dbload.c make: mkdep: Command not found make: *** [.depend] Error 127 Any hints for that??? [xmail] MailList permission
Dear All, I have set up a maillist and put some e-mail address with apporpriate permission (R/RW). Does it suppose that only users with RW permission is allowed to write e-mail to this mailing list?? I find that even I use an e-mail account (i.e. yahoo.com) which is not listed in the mailing list still able to send e-mail to the list. Do I miss some configuration in Xmail?? I read the debug message and seems that it stops after the Av-filter from Peter Lindemaninvolved. The debug message is something like this: rm: cannot remove file /var/MailRoot/spool/x/x/mess/xxx.xxx.faith.report file or directory not found. You can sometime see this message in debug mode but this is not a problem. Do you have ClamAV installed, then you will see this message. I see. I am using ClamAv. Thanks Peter. But seems that after scan a few messages then xmail stops. After restart Xmail, the av-filter scan the remain mail again and then everything is fine. Any clues for me?? Do you have set the correct version in checkvirus.cfg? I think so. I am using XMail 1.18 and I set the version to 116. I think it works fine most of the time but only in the case I mentioned above. I explain my situation again to you here. 1.I (on the same network as the xmail-server) send an e-mail with attachment to multiple recipients, say 15. 2.I can see in debug mode that the filter involve correctly and gives the correct ret code. 3.But after a while, xmail stops. 4.I have to restart xmail manually. 5.Then I can see in ps -A that the checkvirus.pl runs and then clamscan runs. 6.Everything back to normal. Hello all, I run xmail in debug mode and I found that when there is a incoming mail trigger the virus filter from Peter Lindeman, it keeps showing me the message :rm: could't remove file /var/MailRoot/spool/x/x/mess/xxx.xxx.faith.report. File / directory not found. What is the problem there?? I am running xmail-1.18 and the latest av-filter form Peter Lindeman.
