Re: [Xrdp-devel] Per-user session re-use

That is the default behaviour when X11rdp is used as a backend for XRDP.

OK that's excellent news. I may just have outdated software. According to
the sourceforge page, the latest version is 0.6.1 and I am using this:

 xrdp-0.6.1-2.el6.x86_64

Are there newer rpm's available for el6?

You will need to build from source or find packages for *both* xrdp and X11rdp.
Xrdp is not enough for what you want to acheive.

For Debian / Ubuntu the X11rdp-o-Matic project is a very easy way to start,
since it builds the debs directly from git. I heard it was being adapted to
RHEL but I don't know the status. You can look that up on the mailing list
archives.

Cheers
Gustavo

 Thanks,
 Mark

Actually one user per client is the default now in v0.8.

Is this different from one session per user? E.g. if user bob has an xrdp
session and someone logs in as bob from another rdesktop client the
typical behavior on Windows is to kick off the first bob and give the
session to the newly-connected bob user.

This is the behavior our Windows users are used to at least, so hopefully I
can find a way to duplicate that with xrdp.

Actually one user per client is the default now in v0.8.

There is a patch to make this configurable that I need to get in.

You can get beta v0.8 binaries at
http://server1.xrdp.org/xrdp/release/v0.8/
