Here's an idea that might nail the 80/20: by default, only list tags
which have been used by the user more than once. Have some option to
show all, but hide the orphans. At least in my case, that would be
pretty much ideal.

How about rewrite the template so that it outputs the links first and
then the tags second, repositioning using some CSS magic? That way
you get all of the entries up front, and the tags will still appear
there, albeit a bit later on.

RE: [delicious-discuss] feature request: turn off tag roll

2005-12-30 Thread Andy Slezak
This looks really cool. I'm trying to apply it now. I seem to be
having problems.

I've pasted the userContent.css file in:
C:\Documents and Settings\Andy\Application
Data\mozilla\firefox\profiles\folpn7c6.andy\chrome

And replaced USER with aslezak. When I right-click and select tag this
page... via the de.icio.us extension, nothing seems to happen. Any
thoughts?

Thanks,
Andy

I stripped the tag sections outright and thus use a minimal
posting interface. I posted it on DD before. Perhaps this
 might interest you?

I second this request, as I tag items, and use the tag roll
less than more of the time. Plus on browsing other's with
long tag rolls, it is time consuming (even on a T1). I've
had to wait 10-15 seconds per page load on person's of other
10,000 del.icio.us entries. Granted that's alot of entries,
and every little bit counts, especially when the feature is
not used by a user... :)

Ah - I'm using 1.0.7 - that would explain why it doesn't work :)

I don't use the del extension. What URL do you go to when
 posting via this?

The two URL's for your login in the CSS file should read:

 @-moz-document url-prefix(http://del.icio.us/aslezak?url=),
 url-prefix(http://del.icio.us/aslezak?v=3url=) {

Let me know if this works. If not, give me the new posting
URL and I'll update the file.

You also need Firefox 1.5 to run this code.
