RE: [ydn-delicious] Re: handling of bookmarklets
Sorry. We get a lot of email over here and it gets hard to keep track at times. The the delicious firefox extension dev team will get back shortly, since this seems reasonable. Additionally, that team has their own list at http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/delicious-firefox-extension/ as well. [ydn-delicious] use of del.icio.us api
Hi, We have implemented a tagging option in our intranet information system. We would like to integrate a del.icio.us like tag cloud. I was wondering if using the del.icio.us would be a good solution, since all information would be used exclusively in intern, that is to say that the displayed tags wouldn't be related to number of times all users tagged it in del.icio.us, but to the number of times it was tagged in our system. What do you advise me to do ? And is there any help/examples about how to use the api ? I could only see this page : http://del.icio.us/help/api/ Thanks.
[ydn-delicious] Re: handling of bookmarklets
Hey Matthew, I'm the PM working on the firefox extension for del.icio.us. Sorry about the delay in responding. We are working on a solution for this issue, though it's not exactly as you describe. We're planning on providing the ability to retain the original FF bookmarks toolbar and keeping it alongside the del.icio.us toolbar. This way you can keep your livemarks in one and recently bookmarked in the other. There's a fairly vigorous debate in the 'delicious-firefox-extension' group if you'd like to participate. [ydn-delicious] Re: use of del.icio.us api
Hi, You might be able to do this by creating a del.icio.us account to track tags in your system. Once you do this you can use the tags/get API to return counts for the tags for that specific account. http://del.icio.us/help/api/tags -n. --- In ydn-delicious@yahoogroups.com, kikimalibu [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi, We have implemented a tagging option in our intranet information system. [ydn-delicious] Checking for Missing/404 Links
Hey folks.. Have been using del.icio.us for a few weeks now.. Am rather happy with things.. Very easy for me to share my bookmarks between FF and IE at home and at work. Have just finished importing all of my IE bookamarks, and now have to tag them (179 links. This is gonna take awhile.) Thanks Del folks for the awesome util! Moving on.. Have a question.. Went through the help pages and didn't see anything related to this mentioned.. Does del.icio.us do any sort of checking for 404 pages? If it doesn't (and I'm betting it doesn't) .. Does anyone know of a util/program/browser plugin/anything that does?
Re: [ydn-delicious] Checking for Missing/404 Links
I asked about this very thing recently - a feature to ping all your bookmarks and return a list of dead links which the user might have the option of keeping or deleting. Still waiting for the delicious team to hear if they are going to roll this up as part of their next feature set. Mike P.S. I have over 2,300 bookmarks and yeah, it takes a while to manually validate them all! - Original Message From: Michael [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: ydn-delicious@yahoogroups.com Sent: Thursday, December 14, 2006 5:18:22 PM Subject: [ydn-delicious] Checking for Missing/404 Links Hey folks.. [ydn-delicious] Re: Checking for Missing/404 Links
We talked about this ourselves- one issue is that many people save private bookmarks to intranet sites which are not visible to our machines, so these would show up as 'dead'. Also, most news sites don't actually return a 404 when an article is taken down, but instead a pretty error page which is still a valid page. So we have thought about the problem but haven't thought of any clear solutions. Even if we just checked for 404's, the numerous edge cases add up to a confusing experience. -Nick --- In ydn-delicious@yahoogroups.com, Michael Feher [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I asked about this very thing recently - a feature to ping all your bookmarks and return a list of dead links which the user might have the option of keeping or deleting. [ydn-delicious] Scheduled Outage on Sunday 12/17 at 12PM PST
Hi all, As stated in our a href=http://blog.del.icio.us;blog/a today, we're planning a 2 hour outage at noon PST on Sunday. The outage is for implementing performance and stability upgrades, and I just wanted to give this group the heads up. While this outage is in effect, you will not have access to your bookmarks (unless you are using the new 1.3 release of the Firefox extension). Let me know if you have any questions. -n.
