[ydn-delicious] Machine tags

2007-02-01 Thread Alf Eaton
What are the chances of del.icio.us supporting machine tags, as
Flickr now does, in the not-too-distant future?

I tried to post an example a few days ago, but the length of the tag
field was too short to hold all the tags, and the user's tag space
gets messed up by all the metadata because the machine tags aren't
kept separate.

Would it be possible to move the delicious menu into a submenu of
Tools, like most other extensions do?

This happens with me. I used to subscribe to many interesting tags,
but duplicates reduces the utility so much that I hardly bother
reading the subscriptions. How much of a performance impact would
collapsing duplicates be? (and I'm not sure how that would work with
an rss subscription. remove duplicates between viewings? what if
someone didn't view the inbox for months?)

I use http://deliciousfiltered.stuhlmueller.info/
which works per subscriber and filters out items you've already seen.

It's not exactly what you were asking for, but I find

@-moz-document url-prefix(http://del.icio.us/popular){
 .post a:visited { text-decoration: line-through ! important; }
}

to be quite useful (Firefox 1.1 only - it puts a strike through the
links that you've already visited).

Someone else suggested

system:filetype:ogg - system:media:audio
