Re: Reset all sync?

2007-05-11 Thread Jerry Walz

this may work

After checking all the .Mac settings, try running the kcSync -reset
command, as described here:

http://macosx.com/forums/1284821-post5.html

Is there any way for me to *really* reset all sync? I have used the
.Mac preferences to reset .Mac using data from one machine, but the
other machines I use don't seem to honor the reset. They keep their
own data, which then causes the problem again. I want to do
something to get everything back in sync using one machine as the
canonical source to begin with.

Help!

iCal seems to be the worst problem. Yojimbo and Address Book work fine.

Martin

I think Syncrospector is your friend. It's either included in the

It's a little hidden on the ADC site. There is even a tutorial for
the app though.

You can find the direct links there:

Just won?t work for me

2007-05-11 Thread Don Truett
Other than that, it’s the perfect program for quickly collecting
links and tagging them for the school support site I have created.
At first I had (and still have .Mac sync problems), as in it just
doesn’t. Even using Advanced in .Mac prefs and replacing Yojimbo data
in either direction doesn’t change things. Patrick gave me Terminal
commands, which I executed properly, then a series of steps to reset
sync data, which I followed.
I changed some things in Yojimbo at school, creating a couple of new
test items and deleting some others. When I went into the folder
holding the items at
usernameLibraryCachesMetadatacom.barebones.yojimbo
I discovered that there were many more items than in my Library.
Opening them all individually, the deleted items were still there
(still none I synched from my other computer). Is this where they
should reside, and does anyone have an idea why they won’t update,
let alone sync? I tried trashing Yojimbo and redownloading, but no
change.

if that's the case, then why does yojimbo have a save command at

while i understand, semantically, what you're saying, i think the
bottom line is consistency in the user experience. when i create a
note in yojimbo, i'm creating a document, whether yojimbo thinks
it's a document or not. the fact that yojimbo auto-saves is
fantastic! but if i create a note (document) and start typing, until
yojimbo auto-saves, that document has not been saved.

so i still maintain that the dot should appear until either (a) the
user saves or (b) yojimbo auto-saves. the dot is simply a visual aid
for the user, and with all due respect, your rationale does not
explain why the dot should *not* appear. :-) then again, i may have
missed (or misunderstood) something

It is possible to work with separate editor windows in manual save
mode. The main window always autosaves.

Consider iCal as an example. When you create a new calendar/
appointment/to do in iCal, it doesn't mark the main window as edited
until such time as iCal commits the edits to disk.

Yojimbo manages the details for you.

Re: Alternate Bookmark in Yojimbo

2007-05-11 Thread Jim DeVona

Just thought I'd mention that I've updated my Bookmark in Yojimbo
script. It is now available for Firefox as well as Safari. I suspect
it would not be hard to adapt for other browsers, either. It also
checks for duplicate bookmarks. There are, of course, many ways to
create bookmarks in Yojimbo; this just happens to be my favorite.

Being ignorant of the Bookmark in Yojimbo (and other) bookmarklets

this mailing list's archives now I see that this problem and solution
have already been covered pretty well, but I figured I'd share my
script anyway. You can download it or read more about it at
