I need a good strathspey to play on the fiddle in the key of
B flat major.
Transpose whatever strathspey you like into the key of Bb?
Yes - but then you have to mess about with it

Can someone explain the problem with quotes after a bar line, please?
Wouldn't it be best to avoid unmatched bracket symbols?
The following works perfectly well with ABC2Win:

Hi!
I'm creating a abc based digital library at
http://alfarrabio.di.uminho.pt/mteca.
I'm using abcm2ps and abc2midi. But these tools have problems.
First, with abcm2ps, I cannot generate two eps images when the music is
longer than one page.
With abc2midi, some ABC notation is not supported

| It seems to. But I didn't realize the Tune Finder was a plagiarist.
Well, actually, that's all it is. ;-)

can [ABC2Win] handle in-line fields, in particular metre changes?
Yes, done that; meter and key change can appear in the length of
a stave line, but the K: M: L: fields must be at the left margin,
and preferably in that order.
I meant in-line in the ABC itself, like this (acceptable to all
I've also been contemplating solving the need for random text such as
last time under an ending bracket. This obviously needs quotes, and
has syntax problems after a bar line. What I think would work is to
say that you must use the '[' in this case, and you can then write

Just tried bringing up BarFly 1.0d30 under Classic on Mac OS X 10.1.4,
with QuickTime 5.06,
and discovered that it doesn't seem to play properly - notes sound as if
they have a
long-delay echo on them. Is this a new problem, or known? I seem to
remember it working
properly when I first tried it

Well, there might be a minor problem there.
You know how things went with www.lyrics.ch, a sad affair. I have grasped a

bummer. Have you found a Pascal compiler for X yet?
I've had no problems using Java to play MIDI, but I haven't tried QT for Java
- guess I'd better get cracking on releasing the version of Skink that plays tunes...
