Dear Friends,
Many amongst us, are not aware of VOTING procedures or have not voted
due to not being able to access the information on the candidates who
have stood for elections.
To help the visually challenged persons to understand these issues, we
had approached the chief electoral officer/ chief additional secretary,
Maharashtra, Mr. Shrikant Deshpande, to arrange for special workshops
for the visually challenged persons.
We are glad to inform you that he has agreed to conduct these workshops
at Ruia College, Matunga, at Jhunjhunwala College, Ghatkopar and at
Bedekar College, Thane.
These workshops will be held between 25th February and 28th February
2024. The exact dates and timings will be informed to you, once you
register with us. So please register immediately.
At these workshops, the staff of the election commissioner, will
demonstrate the EVM machine by using a dummy. They will guide you how to
vote using the same. They will also provide Neha Kit Helpline, which
will transcribe the candidates list etc. in Braille.
As this will be of immense help to all those who are eligible to vote,
we would request you to register your name with us by filling up the
Google form given below as early as possible.
Kindly note even those who have not applied for voters card, though they
are eligible are requested to attend this workshop, as they will be
guided about how to apply and acquire the card.
Kindly note that this workshop will be held only on the scheduled dates,
and will not be repeated as the EVM machines and the staff are not
available later.
While filling out the forms, you are required to mention at which center
you will be attending the workshop.
