Hi Bert,
Yes there are !
If you TSM server is dédicated, depending on how much RAM you have, you can
adjust the ram used by TSM to ALL minus the network buffers you want.
Here is a sample for one of my small TSM Servers (256 MB RAM, 1 Eth 100, 1
Eth 10)

I will be out of the office starting August 27, 2001 and will not return
until September 11, 2001.
I will respond to your message when I return.
Hi,
Was wondering if anyone could tell me what I should be doing if I
would like to cancel a backup storage of the below-mentioned tapes (backup
stg dailypool dailycopypool). I have these 2 tapes which TSM have been
trying to do a copy of the primary tapes, but the primary tape has been
Hello!
It seems that the problem was the iD changing.
Not the server.id was named in the notes.ini.

Eric,
The meaning of the OP en CC codes are explained in the Message book,
somewhere at the end. (page 1095 in the 4.2 book)
You can try to find the problems in AIX with the errpt command, perhaps the
drives where never cleaned.

Gene - First off, a TSM rule is that only Copy Storage Pool tapes should
go offsite, not Primary tapes.
I presume you don't have Copy Storage
Have you configured the Eliment adress correctly, because if you dont then
you pobably have the problem there

We are running TSM 4.1.0.0 server on SUN Solaris 8.
A SUN 8mm Mod. 8500 device has been connected and it works correctly for
Solaris, we can do mt and tar commands, but when we try to label the

2- LABEL LIBVOLUME

No problem. I delete ours regularly.
TSM doesn't make any use of the STGNEW, STGREUSE, and STGDELETE entries.
As far as I know, the only use for them is in the case where you have to
restore your data base to a back level; then looking at the volhist gives
you an idea of which tapes you need to
I asked this on Friday but didn't see any responses... Our location is

George,
Take a look at the redbook for this.
It is called Backing Up Lotus Domino R5 Using
Tivoli Storage Management.
The publication number is: SG24-5247.
You can find it at: http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/
(Search for Domino.)

The ADSM Server-to-Server Implementation and Operation redbook
goes into this subject.
The second and the third server can be the same one. So, you make a server
to serverconnection to itself. Then you can import the exported data.

Well, normally in is used like so
select node_name, filespace_name, other_details from filespaces where
node_name in (select node_name from nodes where domain='TARGETDOMAIN') or
node_name in ('NODE1','NODE2','NODE3')
So, you're saying node_name is in (ie, is a member of) a list of objects.
Hi, *SM administrators. I haven't seen this error showed up on the activity
log on the server before and I don't have a clue how to solve this. It has
to do with thread and migration. The following are the errors I got from the
activity log:

I need to keep a 3.1 server from allowing processes to run until my 3494
is operational again. Is there an option to set in dsm.opt or dsm.sys
in 3.1 like the
nomigrrecl in 3.7???
I tried this in the dsm.opt but cant start the server with the entry
there.
Dont't have a 3494 but one thing I do when my library is down is use
command UPDATE DRIVE to set online to NO, for each of the drives in
library. This won't stop processes from starting but they will not lock
up trying to get a drive. You can easily cancel them when they start.

Is it me or is a restore of Netware data slow? I get at best 5.6g per
hour off of a 21g per hour drive. TSM backs it up fast but takes way
to long to restore. Does anyone else have this problem and if so what
do you do?
I am conducting a poll just for my own gratification -
1.How many people on this site are backing up Exchange 2000?
2.How many people are backing up Exchange 2000 in a active/active
cluster?
3.How many people are experiencing Memory Errors when doing so?
4.Is anyone doing it
I have one Tivoli Server servicing 63 Netware and NT clients. I have a

Your policy appears to do what you intend. Keeping the retextra and

that you turn off migration and reclamation while you backup the
database. Is there any
