I am facing a very strange problem with my TDP for Oracle 2.2 on Solaris 8 with Oracle
8.1.5
Whenever I run Tdpoconf password - it gives me the error error opening
/opt/tivoli/tsm/client/oracle/bin check the permissions
When I run the tdpoconf showenv, it gives me all the details
sent an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
with the following text in the body: SUBSCRIBE ADSM -L yourfirstname

There is no way around this one. You MUST have 3.7.4 or higher
in order to use TDP for SQL 2.2 or later. There is a function of
the server that MUST be there in order for backups to work.
That function was added in TSM Server version 3.7.4.

If it's an AIX system which I believe it is... You must go into smitty -
devices - tivoli storage manager devices then define a manual tape drive
which will link the /dev/rmt4 to a /dev/mt4 (TSM manual tape device drive

backups during the week, then weekly and monthly offline/cold backups...
using dsmc archive /Ora_instanceX/* -archmc=xyz -su=y. Using archive
makes it very easy to do just what the customer wants: weekly (and/or

Problem: We use backupsets for DR purposes! Not my choice.. But since I

We have just been bought out by a large company that has bought into CA
tools, big time. They want me to look at this CA component that was written
for TSM. My question is ' will it provide me with anything of value'?
If the tapes are suspect, you can do an 'audit volume' on them, to verify
the data is good. If the audit comes back clean, do a 'move data' on the
failing tape(s), then remove the media from service. If the tape hardware is
at fault or suspected, repair the hardware, then check the tapes with an

No, SQL SErver 2000 is not installed on that Server.

Probably not. The COM and VDI setup is handled
completely by the SQL Server. TDP for SQL does not
do anything in regards to installing this.
It sounds like something is missing or corrupted
from the SQL Server install... especially if your
other SQL 7 Servers are working fine.

First of all, let me say that I have always had the password expiration
period set on the server for . This is the first time I have tried
using password expiration so it is very possible I am doing something wrong.
I am using PASSWORDACCESS PROMPT. Step 1 shows me my registry password. In

prompt. I was using the password that was stored in the registry from when
it was using generate. When I changed to prompt that was no longer the
