You can identify which volumes contain that node's data on old copypool.
Then delete those volumes which would remove the data for the node in
question along with other nodes' data. On the end re-backup all affected
primary storage pools to recover the data for collateral damage nodes.

Actually what has happened in last night's backup is that the renamed

exactly the same names but with new FSID's and backed up all the data again.

Richard,
Thanks,
I had done the query filespaces and checked that they were unicode in both
cases but missed the very small differences in the hexadecimal filespace name.
So If I had renamed the old filespaces using the hexadecimal option, would TSM
then have been happy and not created new FSID's

I also appreciate Mr. Railbeck feedback. We have been using an all disk primary backup

Is there something similar to NWIGNORECOMpressbit (If a file is compressed
on NetWare, TSM doesn't consider this a change if set to Yes) for Windows
NTFS compressed files?
I thought I saw this somewhere but can't find it anywhere now!

No, there is no option. For Windows, TSM doesn't back up the file if the
only difference is the compression attribute; in this case, only the
attributes for the latest backup version are updated on the TSM server.

Any ideas why a tape is not being mounted?
This may not be the issue, but is the destination stgpool configured with
an adequate number of scratch volumes allowed (MAXSCRATCH)?
One other thing to look at - are all drives and paths online?
Ted

Are you using collocation? If so, each session will want the same tape. When you Q
SESS, you should see which tape each session is trying to mount, or has mounted.
