You could possibly use the same node name for TDP and for normal TSM
client, we do it in our shop. We already faced this kind of password
problem, and the easyest way we found, was to delete any password stored
on the node, and thereafter to redefine them.

TSM is only backing up a new version of your DSM.OPT/SYS file.
But if you got a all new TSM server with empty nodes. Then is your TSM
Client going to do a full backup of your system.

support for LTO Generation II drives was added
in the 5.1.6.1 level of the server. This is described
in the server README file.
Once at a supported level, delete and redefine
the drives in TSM so they are properly recognized
as LTO II drives. They are most likely recognized

but do not show last use. I did a checkin as scratch and the ones in
volhist errored then I ran checkin as private.

Yes I realize that the error is from a record that is too long but what I don't understand is why the Generate Backupset command would be written to the VolHist file in the first place. Since it is not a Volume record I can't figure out what would trigger it to be written to the Volume

when we went from 3590e to 3590h where a single drive was not
upgraded properly and any tape that that drive had written was
labeled as 3590e. After drive problem was solved, the only way
we could be sure and read all tapes was to make

The error you got is normal when you run that kind of restore of your AD Server.
What you need to do is.
Start your Windows 2000/2003 Server in AD repair mode (F8)
Logon as local admin.
Start the TSM Client and restore the system object again.
When the restore if finish.
Reboot your
