Allen, The particular client manual will tell you what local device if any is supported for backupset restore. For example my netware backupset restores do not support locally attached devices so have to been done over the network. Of course at the server end the backupset can be on a file

Hello TSMers A question regarding how TSM monitors files that have changed.. On win2000, TSM client 5.1.5.2, we have found that if we lose a drive and have to do a complete restore onto a new disk (but with same windows drive letter), the first time we do a inc backup, everything gets backed up.

I had that problem and it was a aix tcp tuning issue. Do a netstat -v ent1 | grep Receive Pool Buffer where ent1 is the adaptor that your tsm traffic runs on. If your No Receive Pool Buffer Errors: line is greater than zero you have the same problem I had. We raised our receive pool buffer
