Hi all,
I'm running TSM 5.2.4.3 on an AIX 5.1 server.
In the last 2 weeks it happened twice, that the servers scheduler seems stop
working. In the night after having correctly completed some client backups
(scheduled from the servers scheduler) all following client backup schedules
went to
Cristoph,
Are the backups running in polling or prompted mode on the clients? It is my
experience that less troubles occur when they run in prompted mode.
best regards,
Kurt

Hi,
Every 2:nd minute or so my client will query the server for the next scheduled
event. And it continues to do that for 4 hours after the backup completes
successfull.

Hi,
All of them run in prompted mode.
Thanks
Christoph

Henrik,
so my questions are, is there a setting in 5.3.2.0 server that I can
controll this, or is it a feature..?
This is controlled by the queryschedperiod setting, either in server, or in
client's dsm.opt (server option is supposed to override the client option).
Try to issue q stat on
Q stat shows Query Schedule Period: 2 Hour(s). I have not defined
Queryschedperiod in any clopsets or dsm.opt´s.
I also see this on a 5.1.6.6 client.

I've had the exact same problem running TSM 5.2.2 on AIX 5.2. The only
way I have found to correct the problem was to stop and start the TSM.
I've looked on the WEB and asked about 10 months ago but never heard
anything. I did call Tivoli and we never did find a way to restart the
scheduler
Hi *SMers,
Novell is not listed in TSM for SAN documentation and I didn't find
any related books on IBM website.
anyone knows a third party software for backing up novell netware clients
v6.5 in lanfree backup ?

Hi,
Scenario 1 sounds correct to me.
For scenario 2, you can specify which objects 'Objects' should be backed up
(the most easy way to do this is through the webinterface I think). So you can
make two schedules, with different objects being backed up. How this would work
with the dsm.opt, I
If I remember correctly, wasn't there a TCPIP APAR on AIX that caused
these problems? I had a client with these symptoms and
it turned out to be an AIX issue with the TCPIP stack. Not TSM. Check your ML
level.
But then again that was 2-years ago with this client and I sometimes
Hi,
I'm not sure what you are trying to tell me as I do not, to my regret, speak

Hello,
Does anyone know the IBM link to the new ISC/Admin?
Thanks in advance!
The same place as the rest of the TSM patches/releases/etc, but in the
admincenter directory:

Goc,
BTW, the problem exists in Mozilla as well! I am using a Linux version
Mozilla ver 1.7.12 (which is supposed to be supported, Firefox is not)
and I get these ridiculously wide screen that I have to scroll sideways
on all the time. Sure wish there was a fix for the problem.

Anyone out there gotten the 5.3.2 Linux86 client to install on a VMware ESX 2.5
console? I've gotten the 5.2.3 client installed,
but when I try the 5.3.2 client I run into all kinds of dependancy issues wih
glibc and libstdc++.
