Did you use the cache on stgpool disk ?
With cached stgpool data will not moved from disk to tape but copied
during migration.
When the stgpool disk become full the oldest data are deleted.
This can you help a bit.
The cons is a performance hit during migration.

Are there any folks on the list that are using TSM in a
hospital?
Sometimes we have to battle with some of our software
venders to allow us to backup their system using TSM. Sometimes they
will tell us that the system is FDA approved as is and must be backed up
using a
Been there done (and still doing) that...
We have TSM and related products for our facilities.
(We have standardized our database backups on BMC's SqlBackTrack.)
We weigh the need of the app and usually strong-arm them back...
If a vendor says that we can't touch their data, we DON'T touch
Yea, it is typically the case, especially with the GE folks. My take on
this is, if we pay,,,we say what goes.

Start using HEAT Self Serve (HSS) Today!
Just click on the link below.
We upgrade our Solaris Domino servers to R7 and now the TDP's are failing:
The error we get is:
Could not find linked executable: 'domdsmc_aspen'
when we try to run the domdsmc_aspen script.
What/where is it looking that is causing the failure ?
We are fast running out of archivelog space !
Yep, we support 5 hospitals here. The only problems I have run into with
Application vendors is that they sometimes request that I exclude key
app components from backup, and back up a copy they generate instead.
Also, in case of SQL, I'll set up TDP to back up the databases on a
separate schedule
You need to run the dominstall program after the upgrade.

What am I doing wrong?
I'm trying to search adsm.org for user experiences with Journal-Based
Backup (JBB).
If I search for journal I set about 25 hits, including a couple of porn
hits - on the forum site.
If I search for JBB I get no hits at all. Ditto if I combine the two
terms with or. No
Hello, all. I'm receiving the following during a Sysback process.
BMR0041E Backup 0.709911745 is already in progress for System backup on
TSM server tsm.
FAILURE: System backup failed to complete.
I understand there is an open backup still out there, and saw it after
running
I can't answer your question, but I do not use adsm.org to search the
archives.

Zoltan,
We had the same thing with TDP on AIX 5.3 where a BMC Patrol agent had
variables in the Domino startup script that were overwriting the PATH
statement so that the directory to find the TDP executables was not
found. Once the Patrol variable were fixed to append to the PATH
statement then
1) smitty sysback - TSM Configuration - TSM Backup Management -
Remove a TSM Backup Image
2) select the TSM virtual device
3) select (with esc7) the open backup and hit enter
4) rerun the backup

Thanks for the suggestion. We don't have any other product running on

The TDP process is such a bouncing-ball that following one file link to

Yessir, that did the trick! And now we officially have a
Google-searchable solution for BMR0041E, if applicable. Thanks so much,

If so, is it worth it?

We are about to purchase TSM licenses so that we can backup or SQL
server databases on our Windows server clients direct to TSM.
Is there an FAQ or guide available on how to do this?

I'm wondering if this will work as an exclude.dir. I'm finding that some

wondering if I can exclude the directory this way since the directory name
