Hi folks,
I had a user try to send ~500GB to an archive. The disk pool for
archive space is 123 GB, and there's plenty of free tape behind it.
At about 218 GB into the operation, the client threw this error:
11/05/2007 18:56:54 Server out of data storage space
11/05/2007 18:56:55 Server out
hi,
plenty of free tape behind means nothing in this case
what's maximum scratch volumes allowed value for mig. tape pool ?

Has TSM figured out a way yet to match serial numbers or wwns so that tape
drives assign properly across different Lanfree machines? Or is it still a
laborious manual process to match them up and keep them matched up?
If it is still a manual process, has anyone figured out server side scripts
Hi Mike,
Are you going to run x64 or x86?
How much data and how many TSM Servers are we looking at?
How big will the database going to be do you think?
Going to use Library sharing?
Thanks
Christian

Hello,
We would like to backup the LDAP servers(Linux OS) on tivoli. What
is involved when it comes to backup and restore on ?

Is this link sufficient to guide me though? Just want to
Hello,
If your LDAP server is OpenLDAP (and not Tivoli Directory Server), you
maybe worth reading this redpaper :

I remember seeing something like this before... (~like~)
OK, so by your log, the client rolled straight to tape at some point
(probably because the disk pool filled or got full enough to where the
preallocation couldn't be made).
What is the maxnummp for your client?

I had a similar situation with this error. I contacted IBM support on
this and they told me that this message can sometimes be encountered if
you are using client compression and going to a disk pool. I don't
remember the exact details, but the idea is that TSM estimates how much
of the disk
Hello Erwann,
It is ADAM LDAP ( Microsoft's LDAP). I am wondering if it can be
treated as a simple db restore to get the data.

I concur on the question. Define what you mean by large (# of nodesTB
of storage).
We are currently running 4-Linux and 1-AIX TSM server (the AIX is being
phased out and moved to one of the Linux servers).
One server has 271 nodes and backs up over 1TB nightly with 114TB of
storage
Since we got heavy fragmentation in our storagepools of type file we
think about using predefined,preallocated volumes.
What's your experience with preallocated vols of type file?
I've read about some problems because TSM deletes the new defined volume
before usage and let the new volume grow.
