Trying to reclaim space in disk pool defined with devc=file,l TSM level 6.3
The query command shows the volumes have reclaimable space but the reclaim gets
the message
ANR2111W RECLAIM STGPOOL: There is no data to process for DEVT_PRIM.
tsm: TSMPOK_SERVER1q vol 0038.bfs f=d
Hi Tim,
What is the reclaim command you're using?
Met vriendelijke groet,

We do run some devices called Preventia. I wonder if those are what you
describe - intrusion prevention.

Thanks for all the thoughts!
The 'register node' and 'update node' commands have a
'sessioninitiation' parameter. The default value, 'clientorserver',
would be needed for the backup arrangement you describe for clients
outside the firewall. The other possible value, 'serveronly', would

I am not familiar with that particular product, but I would either talk
to whoever manages it or the vendor themselves. The ones I have used
have verbose logging so it's pretty easy to determine if it is the
problem.
Configuring them is very similar to a firewall. In our operation we have

This should normally work. Are there any messages in the actlog around the time
you executed this command?

Just remember, there are 2 ways of backing up through a firewall.
- The insecure way, where you open incoming ports to the TSM Servers
TCPPORT setting, and perform backups in polling mode. If the client
was compromised, it would have access to all the backups, and conceivably
the TSM server.

No, it has

Hi Tim,
Are you using server-side deduplication on this pool ?

I call them stuck filling tapes, and have a script that runs every day
that keeps them under control. Any filling tape that hasn't been written
to in 6 days gets a movedata run on it. Also, it also occurs on file pool
volumes. We're on tsm server v5.5.2, and v5.5.5 on our dedicated library
Now that we know this is a de-duped storage pool, you need to know that before
TSM will reclaim a de-duped volume, it has to be completely backed up to a copy
pool.

The tape drive mapping utility now includes fully integrated support for
ACSLS-attached libraries. The utility does not rely on TSM's API for
communications to ACSLS and can be run on a system where TSM is not present.

Hi,
I'm keen to make use of the new features in TSM 6.3, one of which is node
replication. However, the client I'm working with has limited bandwidth
between datacenters and there is no way that 4TB of change a day is going to be
copied across the link even if it is deduplicated. Is there a
