You might want to check if Netbackup has a trial/demo version you can
download and install that might let you perform the restore.
Also, I believe Netbackup uses some form of tar to store data on tape.
Check out
Hi TSM-ers!
We have been using TSM on AIX for quite a while (since ADSM 2.1) and we
always used the Atape driver. In fact I always thought one had to use
the Atape driver, unless you use a drive which isn't supported by Atape,
in that case you should use the TSM device driver.
The 6.3
You will use Atape for the library control, but you didn't mention what drive
type you are using. Assuming it is an IBM drive, then you will use Atape for
that as well.
I have a quantum library with IBM drives, so I use the TSM driver for the
library control and Atape for the drives.
Hi,
I would say that you should do as you have always done : install atape for IBM
devices.

Hi TSM-ers!
We have been using TSM on
Have a LTO tape that was previously written to. It was outside the library so
we inserted it to do a reclaim process.
After it was inserted we attempted a checkin command but the results show no
volume found.
CHECKIN LIBVOLUME TSMLIBR SEARCH=YES VOLLIST=A00027L5 STATUS=PRIVATE
Did you check the tape in to the library and assign it to the correct pool?

Yes we assigned it to logical library_a which is the only library we have
All the other tapes in the library are assigned to library_a
Should I see the same list of tapes via the TS3310 web page for data cartridges
that
I see as a result of q libv tsmlibr

Hi
I have been asked to implement a solution for backup of Lotus Domino
Servers using TSM. At this moment in time, i am unsure if they will be
running this is on Windows, Unix or Linux.
I have done this previously and was intending to implement a similar
solution: Weekly full backups, daily
We are doing exactly what you said, except that we have phased out log
backups (too many issues with synchronizing between the daily/weekly/log
backups and orphaned logs and not enough time in the day - there are Domino
backups running all-the-time). Currently our Domino servers are Solaris,
but
I think it depends on your environment, your hardware, the size of your mail
servers.
The original use of Flashcopy manager (this is about the third name for the
product - it was originally something like TSM for hardware) was to
facilitate use of snapshots of volumes taken with IBM disk
Oh, and I should have clarified -
You are going to use TSM for Mail regardless.
It's just whether or not you have Flashcopy assisting it.

Tim,
The info given by the library should match what q libvol shows. You maybe
should run an audit library to see it clears things up.
Bob.

One slight clarification...
You can use FlashCopy Manager on Windows with any hardware.
You are not limited to IBM hardware.
Thanks,
Del
