Hi,
I'm in this configuration ! :)
I've 4 TSM 6.4 instances on 2 AIX servers in HACMP.
We went in production last month, so I did'nt have any feedback.
We begin the migration of our nodes this week and we have more than 2000 nodes
to do!
For the moment we haven't :
- VTL
- Active pool
- dedup

Hi,
the error message says it: the pool is not defined in any domain.
Btw, you can search for the error message code and you'll find the answer:

We are having a tough time with using TSM for VE and backing up Microsoft SQL
servers in a clustered config.
It looks like the quiesce of the VM causes trouble within the cluster.
Just curios if anyone has had better luck with backing up a clustered SQL
server that we are :-)
Thanks
Hi Michael (happy new year^^) thanks for reply.
See that bu don't understand anything lol.
Define the active-data pool to a domain using the ACTIVEDESTINATION parameter
on either the DEFINE DOMAIN or UPDATE DOMAIN comman
I know what they mean by define active-data pool, i know the
Hi Eric,
Does the cluster think the machine is down and performs a failover?
If so, you may need adjust the Cluster Heartbeat Settings.
You will see a number of google hits for the same thing with
VMware Exchange DAG cluster snapshots.
Some of the values VMware recommends changing are:
*
Yes, and it looks like the cluster member was involved in TSM for VE quiesce
about the same time. So I pretty much wrecked the cluster it looks like.

Or, in the admin cli, help ANR0185E (or whatever message code). Saves a
trip to the Messages guide.
Mickael, I haven't worked with active data pools yet, but from the
documentation, it looks like you don't have the ACTIVEPOOL-FILE storage pool

I backup the DB, config and volhist files to a FILE device, and restore from a
replicated copy (using a Data Domain on both ends).

That doesn't physically relocate the file, or transfer it in chunks like
FTP, does it?

It creates a copy in an alternate location. I'm not exactly sure of the
transfer method. I just make sure that the replication for the source TSM file
systems is complete before creating a snapshot on the target side.

Hi,
I have seen this - you need to add/compile the locales to the linux host
- you need to set your language to en-US but the locale file for the
given language must exist in the system.
As far as I remember, locale-gen is what you need in Ubuntu ...

I also use Windows Backup for system state backups and let TSM pick up the
files. You can fool Windows into using a local disk by creating a share
and using the share name. I haven't tried it with 2012 but it works fine
in 2008.
