Hi Mike,
was looking for the same thing some days ago.
Found this in the V7.1 Info Center:
Converting client nodes for store operations on a target replication server:
If a source replication server is unavailable, you can convert client nodes
to be non-replicating nodes. Non-replicating client
Hi Christian,
No, it's not possible. the Storage Pool must be deduplication enabled to be
able to run identify duplicates against it. If you enable your Storage Storage
for deduplication, and start identify process, your DB will start to grown at a
very fast rate and you won't be able this
Hi,
That is right, run a REMOVE REPLNODE node_name on the target server, re-direct
the nodes to the target server (setting tcpserveraddress and tcpport) AND do
remember to check that node and the target server agree on the node password.
If/when the source server becomes available again, set
I shouldn't get this excited about backups, but Ho ho ho!
Bent and Wolfgang, thanks so much! It looks like this was simplified from
version 6.x, which by every account sounded like it had an arcane procedure
for doing this.
I very much appreciate the speedy responses, actual commands and
Hi,
I maybe overlooked but when I arranged the Redbooks for Tivoli according to
date, it seems that the last TSM Server book is IBM Tivoli Storage Manager
Versions 5.4 and 5.5 Technical Guide updated 20 Ağustos 2010.
Is in there any Redbooks about TSM server 6.X and 7.X ? Or did IBM abandoned
I know the new Knowledge Center is active, but historically I google the TSM
version and use the link to the Info Center, looking at the left pane you will
see Printable PDF Documentation where you will find and be able to download
the manuals.
Here is the 6.3 link
Agreed, there is nothing self explanatory or intuitive about TSM

Re: [ADSM-L] Redbooks for TSM 6.X
It seems IBM has halted the production of TSM redbooks. Also the
Certification guides and Technical guides exist no more for the newer
versions.
The reason for this is that TSM in the recent years has become so easy,
intuitive and self explanatory. That was a joke.

On Tue,
a more serious answer: there is a 6.1 redbook, I've not heard of anything more
recent.

Mr Taylor.
I used to get this question or something like it while we were
transitioning our TSM environment to an outside vendor who had no
experience with TSM.
We had been instructed to modify (shorten) retention policies (Management

Thank you for your response, I am not familiar with copy group features. I
have been pouring over the TSM admin guide for a few weeks now trying to

Tom,
As with everything, there is a cost, some times its money, sometimes it's

I recall once asking W to help me train two new (very bright) young men in
TSM... as fast as possible, like a week to prepare and a week to teach.
Her reply was as constructive and helpful as it was humorous.
