Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but with VE being block-level backup, my
understanding was that none of the file-level inclexcl statements applied to VE
backups?

You are correct.
With TSM/VE, you can only exclude at the hdisk level, or the VM level.

moves VM's around to different clusters when it see that resources are
over-taxed to load balance.

I would be OK with this - we don't even use dsmtca. All backups/restores
happen as root or equivalent.

to for example click on some button somwehere else on the screen it will
scroll and mark the rest of the list. And it becomes a big mess.
Any trick to avoid that? I also think it should be possible to click on the
