On one of our TSM v6.3.5 databases we deleted two nodes which totaled 65m
files. After doing this we haven't seen any shrinkage in the database size.

Add the "quiet=no" option to the command. At my level of TSM, 7.1, it is the
default but if you explicitly request it you should get details. Also check
the EXPQUIET option in the server options file.

If you run expiration explicitly (recommended) with the "expire inventory"
command, the details are written to the activity log.

If I remember correctly quiet=no only tells you which filespace expiration is
currently processing, not which file...
