You can also try using FORCE=YES at the end of the command to force TSM to delete a

we'll be upgrading to 5.2.3 hopefully but as we also did a server move as

We are currently looking at making a slight change to the directory structure on our
main fileserver (win2000), primarly moving all our workgroup directories to the root
of the drive they are on (removal of two redundant parent folders). I can probably
already guess what the answer will be but
upgrade later? I only want to do one upgrade
but can't find any information on the IBM support website.

Jesse, I don't use AIX sorry so can't help you there but Paul Zarnowski talked about
his upgrade back in February which sounds similar to yours.

to upgrade to a much bigger library for little gain. Our library
is already at near capacity, don't think management would want to spend $10 on a
bigger library.

There is a command that TSM has which does all this for you. Look in the admin or
reference guide for the define dbbackuptrigger, that should do what you're after.

I'm thinking of now creating a second TSM instance and have that running exclusively

Before I upgrade our TSM server to v5.2 (seems to be taking forever to do due to small
outage windows) I want to reorganise our database volumes so they are a little more
efficient. Is there any recommended maximum number of database volumes a TSM database
should have? Ours is spread across
though.

Just analysing our TSM install today as tapes have been getting chewed up quicker then

We do our offsite vaulting slightly differently. We run two TSM servers, each located
at different locations, and use one of our TSM servers purely for offsite storage.
Each server is a 'server node' of the other and backup each TSM database to the other

I was hoping someone could look over the process I have written up and check if

Can anyone tell me how you define what storage pools a SOURCE server uses on a TARGET

Thanks for the reply Paul, strangely enough your original reply never reached me

for the data stored if ever these was the need restore from them. Is there
a way to configure TSM so we can move the data to a copy storage pool to use with DRM
without having to also retain copies of this same data within the library system on

Thanks for the reply Mark, read below to answer some of your questions:
You have several different issues here to deal with. First and foremost
are you licensed to use DRM, it is a separate purchasable product. If
you are then I highly recommend that you configure it and use it to its
fullest.
